Example: I used to send out “Monthly Updates,” but now I go for something like "5 Secrets to Boost Your Productivity This Month." A small change, but makes a big difference. ✅ 2. Know Your Audience When I began focusing on what my clients and customers really cared about—whether it was solving a pain point or helping them reach a goal—my engagement skyrocketed. Example: If your audience is mostly small business owners, focus on providing tips that help them grow their customer base or manage their time better. For instance, I once shared strategies on how to negotiate like a PRO, and it resonated so well that I got multiple replies from readers thanking me for the practical advice. ✅ 3. Keep It Concise, But Valuable No fluff, just value. Focus on delivering brief, impactful content with actionable insights. Example: Instead of the usual “Consistency is key,” I recommend something specific like "Posting three times a week builds momentum. Use a content calendar to stay organized." ✅ 4. Use Visuals to Break Up Text It makes the content more relatable and keeps readers engaged. I always include visuals—whether it’s a snapshot of me working on a project or enjoying a coffee break or useful resources. ✅ 5. Add a Personal Touch Sharing personal stories or insights has made my newsletters feel more like a conversation rather than a broadcast. Example: I often talk about my early struggles and the strategies that eventually worked for me withproven solutions. ✅ 6. Include a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA) Every email is an opportunity to guide my readers to the next step. Whether it’s clicking a link, replying to the email, or signing up for a masterclass, Example: I might say, “Reply to this email with your biggest challenge, and I’ll share a solution.” This not only encourages interaction but also shows that I’m here to help. ONLY the exact ICP they want. We just did our Q1 retro at The Alliance 🧵 NEW Q1 EVENT DATA FOR YOU: Dinners under 25 people drove 3.4 times higher average pipeline per attendee than 200+ person field events Sponsor satisfaction scores were 27 points higher for private dinners vs traditional happy hours Events with personalized pre invite cadences had a 35 percent average acceptance rate among ICP targets Renewal rates on sponsor programs anchored around curated dinners hit 82 percent, compared to 58 percent for "open bar" events Thats why we're doubling down on niche events. Meanwhile, #genAI enables marketers to create tailored content that is relevant to those groups. According to McKinsey & Company, marketers should unlock personalization at scale, by upgrading five areas of their #martech stack and processes: 1. HOW I'VE LEARNED TO TAILOR MY TALKS: 5 PROVEN STRATEGIES FOR BETTER ENGAGEMENT. The last thing your audience wants is to sit through a presentation full of analytics with no actionable content nuggets. The best feedback I receive is when I've taken the time to make my talk bespoke to the people in the audience. By tailoring your talk to the audience, you create a more engaging, interactive, and relevant experience. Here's how I ensure my presentations resonate with my audience: ONE ↳Ask the organiser: Find out who will be in the audience. While organisers can't share data lists, they can give you an idea of the types of businesses and individuals attending. Use this information to research and add relevant examples to your talk. TWO ↳Arrive early: Get to the event early and speak to the audience. Learn about their biggest pains and challenges related to your topic. Incorporate these insights into your presentation to make it more relatable. THREE ↳Encourage questions: Allow your audience to ask questions throughout your talk. This will make the presentation more engaging and ensure that you're addressing their specific needs and interests. FOUR ↳Q&A session: Include a dedicated Q&A session at the end of your talk. This will allow the audience to seek further clarification and help you address any lingering questions. FIVE ↳Pre-event survey: Conduct a pre-event survey with the attendees to ask about their biggest pains and challenges. Use this feedback to tailor your presentation content to their needs. And guess what? It works. Tailoring my talks has resulted in more engaged audiences and better feedback. Attendees feel that the presentation is relevant and that they're part of a collective experience. Personalization is forever changed. If you still think it's a first name, company name in "bold" font, then you're way behind. In 2025, the data tells - Personalized emails generate 32% higher response rates on average. - Email campaigns with advanced personalization (beyond just a name) see reply rates rising to 18%, double what generic templates achieve. True personalization is at the intersection of context, timing, and relevance. Let me explain in my words, → Did they just add a new VP of RevOps? Talk about the scaling process. → Are they in hiring mode? Talk about onboarding efficiency. → Did they hit your pricing page three times this week? That’s the intent. Ops is the layer that takes these signals and wires them into workflows that actually matter. The difference is, Generic “Hi [FirstName]” emails go to spam. Whereas signal-driven personalization, no matter what stage, gets a response and scales. And that is just one example. Personalization that scales is an Ops advantage. And we Ops know the difference between surface-level personalization and personalization that converts. Because we’re the ones wiring the triggers, building the workflows, and aligning the data that makes it possible. If your personalization strategy starts and ends with a mail merge, don’t be surprised when your pipeline looks the same year after year.
