Week - 12 Code Clan
This week is the second week of learning JavaScript, I have learned using XMLHttpRequest or Fetch/Then to require existing data from a Web API to dynamically create front-end web app.
In this week’s post, I would like to share my view on what I call The Excitement Drive Behaviour,
It all started with learning JavaScript, before JavaScript I am honestly not a big fan of HTML, for me, it is just plain code with no excitement, and that negative feeling rippled through towards the entire Front End Development. In my own mind, the Back End is exciting. When I can create a function that embedded with a killer algorism which returns exactly what it is supposed to, for me that is a true fist in the air moment.
After learning JavaScript, I realised my wired prejudice against Front End Development has changed completely, and purely because it becomes "Excited" for me.
This change made me think deeper about myself, and I found out a true face of me, I only want to do the things I am excited for, and will act like a giant baby if I don’t get what I wanted; the worst of all, I will put all my effort to try to ignore, delay, run away, hide and dodge everything that I consider "Not Exciting".
I was horrified when I realised all my life decision so far was made based on how excited I am, to allow me to do the exciting things, someone has to do the not so exciting things and the boring things… I think it is the time for change, it is the time for me to do the ‘boring things’, so someone can do the "Exciting" things.
