Stanford recently released their flagship AI courses for FREE on YouTube. Maybe make this thanksgiving a bit more productive? As someone who was a finalist for Stanford University's LEAD program after my Intel journey, and now teaches 300K+ learners as a LinkedIn Learning instructor, this hits differently. The same courses that would have cost tens of thousands are now accessible to anyone with an internet connection. If I was starting my AI journey today, this would be my exact roadmap: → Start here: CS229 – Machine Learning by Andrew Ng (the foundation everyone needs) See: https://lnkd.in/dNuiW9BM → Then dive deeper: CS221 – AI Principles & Techniques (how to think like an AI engineer) See: https://lnkd.in/dD-zCpRV → Modern AI: CS224N – NLP with Deep Learning (understand how ChatGPT actually works) See: https://lnkd.in/dWdzHA6B → Go deeper: CS230 – Deep Learning by Andrew Ng (neural networks that power everything) See: https://lnkd.in/dZRdJhWb → Advanced concepts: CS330 – Meta Learning (how AI learns to learn) See: https://lnkd.in/dFDYNMbj → The cutting edge: CS234 – Reinforcement Learning (how AI makes decisions) See: https://lnkd.in/dh6QWS_f Why this changes everything: The biggest barrier to entering AI was never talent - it was access. • Traditional CS degrees take 4+ years and cost a fortune • Most professionals can't afford to start over • By the time you graduate, the field has moved on Stanford just eliminated the access barrier. The real opportunity: You don't need a Stanford degree to work in AI. You need Stanford-level knowledge. And that knowledge is now free. As both a LinkedIn Learning instructor and founder of DigiFab AI, I work with professionals from every background - finance, healthcare, logistics, you name it. The ones who succeed aren't necessarily the ones with CS degrees. They're the ones who never stop learning. Here's what I'm doing: Starting fresh with CS229 this week during thanksgiving. Not because I need it, but because continuous learning isn't just a habit - it's survival in a field that evolves monthly. The question isn't whether you can afford AI education anymore. It's whether you can afford not to take advantage of it. Which course are you most excited to start with? P.S. - This is exactly the kind of democratization that gets me excited about technology's potential to empower everyone, regardless of their background or bank account.

One of the most overlooked resources by students: MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) Let's say you're a junior marketing student who's developed an interest in entrepreneurship. You've got a great idea but need to build up your ENT knowledge to bring the idea to life. You might face one (or more) of these hurdles: • Your institution doesn't offer any ENT courses • You're looking for courses in a specific ENT niche • You can't fit any ENT courses in your graduation plan • You want to build knowledge in a low-stress setting • You can't afford to pay for additional courses MOOCs can help. Check out YouTube, Coursera, or any other site that offers MOOCs and you'll find individual lectures and even semester-long lecture series on ENT from: • Harvard • Wharton • Stanford • Berkeley • U of Virginia • Georgia Tech • U of Michigan Any many many others. Top quality lectures from some of the most insightful faculty members and industry professionals. All free to access. Students (and professionals alike) have unprecedented access to top quality self-education today. And the summer is a great time to start taking advantage of it. PS. Learning through MOOCs also gives you a great answer to interview questions like "How do you build your knowledge and skills outside of the classroom?"

Most healthcare professionals don’t need another degree. That’s the uncomfortable truth. What they actually lack is decision-level literacy: • How to read data without being misled • How clinical research really works at site level • How quality improvement happens outside PowerPoint • How global health decisions are made under constraint The irony? Some of the most valuable medical leadership skills are already available for free —from institutions many people assume are “out of reach.” Yet they’re ignored. Because free is often mistaken for low value. Because learning without a certificate feels invisible. Because there’s no external pressure to start. But leadership is built in quiet repetition, not formal titles. The professionals who progress fastest aren’t collecting credentials. They’re upgrading how they think. If you’re in healthcare, clinical research, or public health, here’s a better strategy: → Choose one high-quality course → Apply it immediately to your work → Let competence compound No announcement required. The gap in healthcare leadership isn’t talent. It’s intentional learning. No paywalls. No fluff. Just skills that compound. 1️⃣ Oxford – Medical Statistics / Health Data This course is offered by Oxford University’s Lifelong Learning program (short online statistics module relevant to medical data). 👉 https://lnkd.in/dzZmABXw 2️⃣ Clinical Research – University of Cape Town Free online clinical research course hosted on Coursera: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ddqj9CWS 3️⃣ Essentials of Global Health – Yale University Free online course on global health systems and policy: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dmBRvhmX 4️⃣ Practical Improvement Science in Health Care – Harvard University Free healthcare quality improvement course on edX: https://lnkd.in/dmKqfJaA 5️⃣ Fundamentals of Immunology – Rice University Part of an immunology specialization on Coursera: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dxVp4GmM 6️⃣ COVID-19 Public Health Response – Imperial College London Free public health course about COVID-19 response: 👉 https://lnkd.in/dgsfQmNm If you found this helpful, spare me a like/repost to support my content 🙏 Follow Yonnie Otieno for more resources like this 🔔 Follow the Medical AI Network channel on WhatsApp: https://lnkd.in/gsaf2Kcn
