Winning with Eircode

Winning with Eircode

We have recently published a couple of case studies on how Eircode is working to drive business, in both the public and private sectors, looking at bonkers.ie and Waterford Council.

Ireland's favourite price comparison site, bonkers.ie, has deployed Autoaddress to give its customers a faster and more efficient checkout process with quick and accurate address entry.

Shopping cart abandonment rates are growing, and are currently estimated at 74%. The primary causes of cart abandonment have to do with pricing and the user experience of the checkout process as this chart from Statista demonstrates:

Improving the speed and user experience of the process reduces cart abandonment.

Ireland's favourite comparison & switching website, Bonkers.ie, helps thousands of households save money on their bills every month. Bonkers.ie initially incorporated Autoaddress address entry into one section of their website and were so impressed they have rolled it out to their entire checkout process.

The api is working amazingly well in production and I think the speed of it is something to be proud of

Bonkers uses our "customer preferred address" mode rather than An Post Postal Address to allow users to enter addresses and displays addresses in their preferred format.  This is just one of the many Address Intelligent features you won't find in competing products.

In addition, Waterford Council has deployed Autoaddress in its Microsoft Dynamics CRM system. Waterford City and County Council are using Autoaddress in their Microsoft Dynamics CRM system to provide rapid capture of customer contact address and Eircode.

One of the main benefits for Waterford is in locating of incidents/cases when they are recorded.  Previously staff were expected to pick a townland from a list of 1,000+ so that an incident could be located within the county.  They also had to pick which team would need to respond to the incident.  As part of the Autoaddress implementation Waterford created a simplified set of twelve operational engineering areas.

Now when an incident is recorded the operational engineering area that it falls within is also returned.  Now Waterford not only have the location for an incident but using the location they know what team will need to fix the incident.

Autoaddress has been implemented within Dynamics CRM and has proven very useful for the rapid capture of the Customer Contact’s Address and Eircode, as well as allowing us to geo-locate the reported incident

The Autoaddress CRM integration has been working very well for the Case and Contact entities, and Waterford are now planning to roll it out to other areas as staff have seen how easy it is to use and the benefits that accrue.

Adding Autoaddress address entry to your website will

  1. Reduce the number of fields to be filled in by your customer
  2. Speed up the checkout process
  3. Ensure capture of accurate, clean delivery address details
  4. Improve experience for mobile users

Data accuracy is the foundation for analysis. Its great to see examples where Eircode is proving beneficial.
