Eircode Sample Data and Pricing is Here

There has been some great news this week, with the delivery of both pricing and sample data of the Eircode database. This timely development reminds us that the launch of the Eircode is just around the corner (hopefully in June), and should sharpen minds around the country as to the body of work ahead.

Those interested in having a closer look at the sample data will have to register their interest with Eircode and request that they be sent the data. You can register your interest on the business page of the Eircode site via a simple webform: https://www.eircode.ie/business/

Hopefully access to sample data will begin to dispel some of the unfounded concerns people have been raising about the new postcode, and I will be writing a blog in the future dispelling a few of these.

Meanwhile, at Gamma, work is well under way in getting ready for Eircode. We are working on developing Autoaddress 2.0 which will incorporate Eircodes and will be available for testing in May.

Rolling out this new version of the software will not only include the appending of Eircodes to all addresses, but will also greatly improve the performance of the software and improve match and validation rates and speeds..
