Programming the Blockchain - an introduction
Everyone in IT needs to have at least a basic understanding of BlockChain, how it works and how to program it. Why? Because BlockChain has fundamentally changed how businesses can manage assets and agreements in the digital world. Something that has not been available before and is quietly revolutionising our financial, political and social world. It is very likely that most of our systems will incorporate element of the BlockChain in the not too distant future.
At this months Xamarin meetup Rod Hemphill will present an explanation of what BlockChain offers; he will explain much of the jargon (including the terms metamask, consensus model, smart contracts, Merkel tree, mining, proof of work/ proof of stake, mainNet, Solidity, ICO, Web3); and he will demonstrate how to build and deploy a Blockchain program running on the Ethereum network using the Solidity language.
You will go away with a presentation pack full of jargon and explanations plus a running copy of a simple Solidity program for you to clone. (This is not a promotion for further training).
The Melbourne Xamarin Meetup is a regular monthly meetup for developers of mobile apps using Microsoft's Xamarin platform. The meetup is free, starts at 6pm at the Microsoft Australia, Level 5, 4 Freshwater Place, Southbank, Melbourne.
We are sponsored by Spring Professionals and Microsoft Australia.
