Finding Peace through Introspection
To make my everyday life easier, I have found solutions. I focus on polishing myself—my thoughts, my feelings, my actions, and my intentions—and finding new perspectives on my existence. Thus, I am experiencing moments of happiness simply by focusing on myself and aligning all my actions with my pillars, which are my values. Even in tough situations, I can adhere to my values and make strong decisions based on them.
In this scenario, thinking about others and their actions is out of the question. There is no room to contemplate correcting others; instead, I am busy correcting myself. This helps me avoid wasting time on trivial matters like how to change XYZ, which would only complicate my life. If my values are strong, I don’t need validation and approval from others; I can be intentional in my actions.
I find peace when I travel, visit farms, and streams, or take a walk on the beach. These activities give me ample time to reflect and generate ideas. I often find inspiring ideas during these moments of reflection. And I use my journal to note down my ideas, imagination and thoughts
Let me take the scenario of the relationship with my kids at home.
Whenever I wanted to change someone’s attitude or mindset, I felt disappointed. But when I reflect on myself, I feel empowered. When I advised my kids, I used to get tense thinking about how to change them. However, being a role model in the areas where I advise inspires me, and my kids easily follow me because they can connect with my actions, not just my advice. This is human psychology.
Appreciating them is important. If I start criticizing them, that criticism becomes magnified, and I lose my happiness.
We only live once; there are no rehearsals. So, let us make this life beautiful. You and I must commit to ourselves so that every person lives according to their strong values, focusing on changing oneself rather than others. Thus, you and I can influence others positively and add value to one another.
