Will the remote controls become the objects of the past?

"Where is the remote? I can't find it!", Have you ever got frustrated when you couldn't find your TV's remote control and your favourite show is about to show up? And sometimes you ended up with heated arguments with your siblings over the cause that who'll hold the remote?

Sooner rather than later, such heated quarrels over remote control won't aggravate the amicability of the house. Not on the grounds that they will be available at right place but rather in light of the fact that soon remote controls will be the objects of the past. Innovation has at last achieved that dimension when our hands will assume control over the job and supplant them by specifically communicating with the PC or TV. Yes! you'll be doing the same thing that we watch in the Hollywood sci-fi movies, actors moving and grasping their hands in the air to give commands to the computer objects. For instance, to move a folder from one place to another, place your palm on it and move it to the desired destination without even any contact with the mouse! Even while listening music, controlling the volume would become just a matter of making an action with your hand in the air like a magician.

While a few of us may consider it being a modern vision, some of us have already experienced it through what we call "Gesture Recognition Technology".

Leap motion, an American Company has manufactured a computer hardware sensor device that supports hand and finger motions as input, analogous to a mouse, however requires no hand contact or touching. In 2016, the organization released new software intended for hand tracking in virtual reality. HP released a series of special edition laptops under the name Envy 17 Leap Motion Special Edition TouchSmart that was embedded with a leap motion sensor.

The literal meaning of the word gesture is 'a movement of a limb or the body as an expression of thought or feeling'. Gestures are used to pass on the information. That's the basic aspect of this technology.

Gesture technology follows a few basic states to influence the machine to perform in the most enhanced way. These are;

 1. Wait: In this state, the machine is waiting for the user to play out a gesture and spare an input to it.

2. Gather: After the signal is being played out, the machine gathers the data passed on by it.

3.Manipulate: In this state, the system has assembled enough information from the user or has been given an input. This state resembles a processing state.

4. Execute: In this state, the system performs the task that has been requested by the user to do so through the gesture.

Gadgets that work on this innovation more often follow these stages however their span may shift from machine to machine contingent upon its configuration and the task it is supposed to do.

While the initial need of gesture recognition technology was only to enhance the human PC cooperation, it discovered plenty of applications as usage of computer went widespread. Now this technology is being incorporated with video game controllers and contributing as an aid to physically challenged people. Industries are using it to design gadgets so that workers can easily reach out to the areas in the field of operations with machines. In the field of construction, joysticks of cranes are being replaced by gesture recognition devices that reduces the manpower and also increases the accuracy and safety.

The rate of user acceptability of gesture recognition frameworks will be driven by how quick and across the globe gesture recognition becomes established and acknowledged in our regular day to day existences incorporating different conditions in which human cooperation with machines happens. These include interactions in the workplace, home, banking, gaming and other recreation exercises.
