Redefining Your Future
Our special guest this week is a man I've learned a lot from = Christian Sisson . I met Christian through 'Startup Church' run by a mutual friend and a guy I view as a shepherd searching for lost sheep.
Personal story) I think visually and by default, I think multiple moves out (even when I don't want to). Seeing my present business success and picturing our future success proved disappointing = I've spent my life climbing this mountain. What happens when I get to the top?
I sat down a drank a cup of coffee with 30,000+ veterans when I worked in the VA. The position enabled me to get to know them on a deep level and hear thoughts they don't commonly share = retirement is not what its cracked up to be.
Retirement = Boredom. Boredom = loss of purpose. Loss of purpose = people die quicker.
When I boxed nationally, I hit a point where locally no one wanted to fight anymore. This was not positive. I enjoyed boxing and loved to box. I did not enough leaving my home, kids, and traveling for matches.
I lost by winning.
Winning at businesses is likely to be the same. Climbing is the fun part and the view from the top is cool for a little bit. After that, there's nothing but the same trip back down. I don't want that. It doesn't feel good. Its a waste of everything it took to get there in the 1st place.
Helping others
I believe a significant portion of successful good people reach back down and help pull others up. Faithful or not, helping others feels better than helping myself = why?

Because that's the way its supposed to be. I started going to church when veterans I trust and respected told me to go to church. I figured out why the cared enough to twist my arm and peer pressure me into years later.
I found what they were talking about.
The following sounds bad, it was awesome, and I let them know I was doing it. I got veterans to help themselves by talking them into helping other veterans = selfcare through osmosis.
The Bible is having this effect on me. I do stuff now that I don't feel like doing solely because the Bible said I should = my life has never felt better. Similar to veterans, I wouldn't have made some choices on my own and for my own personal benefit is not as motivating as it sounds.
The Bible describes a life worth achieving.
