Nano Tips - Interviewing
<<<< Why do you want this job? >>>>
<<<<What is the running time of this?>>>>
<<<<What is the 103rd digit of Pi?>>>>
I have time after time again shared with others to treat interviewees with the most utmost respect and to make the interview a pleasant and exceptional experience for all who are involved.
Interview itself is already a daunting experience for many, but if you can put people at ease with your approach (even if the interview does not seem to be going well), you can make a difference in a few important ways:
- Truly find out what the candidate is capable of.
- You never know if the candidate just had a bad day, so make sure people leave with a great experience and great perception of your company. This allows the door to remain open for those who are capable or who works hard to try again.
- Your candidate will likely be one day, if not already, users of your product or working at the partners/customers' company who you are collaborating with, you would have represented your company well when even if the interview did not go well, the candidate still has a great respect for you and your company.
We were all once on the other end of the table and will very much be at the other end of the table again, so treat others as how you would want to be treated.
More to come on the HOW???? :)
I decided to start publishing nano tips so others can learn and encourage each other as an experiment. These are personal observations and lessons learnt. If this seems interesting to you, leave a feedback so I know whether or not to continue.
Agreed!
Can't agree more!
