My experience with Appian-Low Code Platform:
With all the digital transformation and dynamics in the market, the utmost necessity today is to drive optimization in the process at every stage, which requires the involvement of every individual. Low code enables this without adding pressure to learn the complex coding and simplifies the app development process. Low-code development removes complexity from building great, modern business apps, and reduced complexity means smoother sailing. Organizations are better equipped to adapt quickly and respond to fast-changing business conditions with these benefits.
It has been a tremendous experience taking MIS- 6385 Robotic Process Automation at UT Dallas this fall semester. I had the privilege to learn about this compelling platform for automation, Appian. Low code is undoubtedly the next big thing in the IT sector! Though a new topic, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of learning new techniques to efficiently and quickly design applications right from its process design to deployment.
I was a little skeptical during my first class about my course enrollment choice as I wasn’t very sure of this tool’s practicality and concept of low code in real-time. I always equated developing applications to hours of complex coding. However, this course uncovered that the requirements and design ideas can be converted to a full-fledged real-time application without learning or having a strong coding background.
Here are a few highlights of my project work:

1. Vehicle Management Application: Designed the vehicle management application that includes operations based on the user preferences and visualized the data using charts functionality in Appian.
2. Asset Management Application: Designed the asset management application in 2 weeks for the companies that can assign and manage all the asset-related information. This is part of the KPMG Hackathon.
Besides my technical learning, I would like to express my gratitude to my talented and dedicated teammates – Ekansh Gupta, Nimish Sharma, Priyanshi Bhatnagar, and Raj Kumar who made this entire project journey a fun-filled experience. In addition to our multiple projects and hackathons, I loved the invaluable lectures and classroom experience exposing me to related to low-code.
I want to extend a special thanks to Prof. Gaurav Shekhar for such an amazing and interactive class every week and for introducing me to the world of Appian and Low code.
