Day 48-54 out of #100daysofcode
Hello Everyone,
Day 48-54 out of 100
On November 4th I wrote that I had an interview that day. It went so well, and it was the best one I have ever had! I was able to answer questions well, and the conversation was flowing nicely.
November 5th-10th I was working on what might have been the next step which was a game project and I was almost done after 15 hours of coding! Technically I had created a simple game that did everything it was supposed to but I recreated it to utilize encapsulation, abstraction, and more efficient logic. Then I realized something wasn’t right.. they were taking too long to get back to me. On Tuesday I got the “Sorry, we are moving forward with someone else” along with something I had never had appended to the end of that message. They said they liked that I was very sharp and that they would keep my resume on file in case anything opened up in the future. They had originally said they were hiring 4-5 people for the Software Engineer Level 1 position and then ended up only hiring 1 person. I thought that I would be heartbroken if I got that “No Thank You” but surprisingly I was fine. I know I did well, and it helped me improve my interview skills, and it helped me get another project under my belt. A day before, I had a great conversation with a new LinkedIn connection and he said I could send him my resume to apply internally where he works. I sent it and a few hours after I got the “No Thank You” I got a call from someone there and we scheduled an interview a few days out. I am blown away at the perfect layout of events. This position (if I got it) would be absolutely perfect. I would be programming in the language I love the most, utilizes a lot of Object-Oriented programming, and I able to support something that is used by nearly everyone! Today (day 54), I am now prepping for the interview by studying my acronyms and flashcards and advancing my projects.
