Building Applications using Low Code
As a graduate student, I am constantly seeking new opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge, and this semester I had the privilege of taking a course on Robotic Process Automation. Throughout the experience, I gained valuable insights into low code, an innovative approach to software development that enables businesses to build applications quickly and efficiently with minimal coding.
During the course, I delved into various low code tools such as Appian, UiPath, AccelQ, and Alteryx. Using these tools, I was able to build robust and scalable applications with ease. I achieved certifications in Appian, UiPath, and AccelQ, each of which was a testament to the skills and understanding I have cultivated.
Before taking this course, my understanding of consulting was narrow, but I now realize that it involves collaborating with clients to identify problems, manage projects, and develop relationships. To be successful in consulting, one must possess a wide range of skills, including problem-solving, communication, and project management. Consulting can bring significant value to businesses by helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals.
The collaborative environment of the class allowed me to learn from my peers and gain different perspectives on how to approach various challenges. The hands-on approach, coupled with the guidance and support provided by the professor and teaching assistants, allowed me to improve my skills and understanding of the material.

Participating in two hackathons during the course was an incredible learning experience that allowed me to refine my skills and work collaboratively with my team members to solve complex problems. In the KPMG hackathon, my team and I developed a user-friendly onboarding process application using Appian, which streamlined the hiring process. In the ACCELQ hackathon, I was tasked with building a full-stack automation testing application, and I am thrilled to say that my hard work paid off as I received a special mention in the hackathon.
The field of low code development is rapidly growing, and businesses are adopting these platforms to drive digital innovation and deliver superior customer experiences. I am excited to have gained valuable skills in this area and to be able to bring my expertise to future projects.
Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to take BUAN 6385 and expand my knowledge of RPA and low code development. I am confident that the skills I have gained during this course will be beneficial for my future career and will help me to make meaningful contributions to the industry. I would like to thank Gaurav Shekhar for teaching us and supporting us throughout the course.
