One of the most interesting trends I’ve seen recently is how large enterprises are shifting from scattered AI tools to unified agentic frameworks. Instead of building dozens of isolated copilots, the focus is moving toward a few orchestrating agents that coordinate across teams, for customers, employees, partners, and developers. These systems act as connective tissue, linking specialised models and tools under one intelligent architecture. The key enabler? Semantics and shared context. When agents can speak a common language that is grounded in structured data and consistent terminology, collaboration becomes more accurate, scalable, and transparent. That’s why investments in knowledge graphs and ontologies matter. They form the foundation for trust and interoperability across an organisation’s AI ecosystem. The shiny interface may get the spotlight, but the real breakthrough lies beneath it: the alignment of data, language, and meaning. Once that’s in place, building smart, reliable agents becomes much easier.

Last quarter, I sat down with a dozen organizations to understand how they're empowering their blended teams to succeed. A fascinating pattern emerged in our discussions about technology. One of the most striking success stories came from a financial services firm that cut their project coordination time by 50%. Their approach wasn’t about using more tools—it was about selecting the right ones and ensuring they were integrated into their workflow effectively. What stood out across industries is the critical role that the right technology plays in team success. Some of the most effective tools include: - Project management platforms (like Monday.com or Trello) that give everyone instant visibility - Communication tools (Slack, MS Teams) that bridge the physical/virtual gap - Secure document sharing systems (O365/Sharepoint, Dropbox, Google Workspace) that balance collaboration with data protection - Virtual workspace tools (Zoom, MS Teams) that empower distributed teams collaborate effectively   What truly sets successful teams apart is how they use these tools. For example, one team standardized MS Teams for all communication and collaboration, creating a unified space for real-time work. They also used AI for automated note taking, generating concise meeting summaries and highlighting key moments in video recordings, ensuring that team members who couldn’t attend could quickly catch up on the most critical parts and stay aligned.   The key takeaway here? Technology isn’t just about having the latest tools—it’s about making the right tools work for your team and using them in a way that enhances productivity and collaboration.   What tools have you found most effective for your blended teams? How do you ensure you're using them to their fullest potential?   #WorkforceTech #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork

🚀 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 🚀 Let’s talk about something everyone assumes they understand — 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐔𝐂) — and why it’s silently becoming one of the most powerful frontiers for AI today. Most people associate AI with chatbots, content creation, or analytics. But what about the meetings, calls, devices, and workflows sitting at the heart of how we actually work together every day? That’s where UC + AI is quietly delivering astonishing value. Here’s what’s happening under the radar (and why vendors like Cisco, Microsoft, Zoom must be on your radar): 🔍 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 When AI is discussed, it often goes into vertical apps, CRM, content generation, or back-end analytics. Few pause to consider that every meeting, device, endpoint, and workflow is a potential touchpoint for AI in UC. Yet the use cases are rich: auto-minutes, task extraction, smart summarization, real-time translation, noise suppression, intelligent room control, compliance monitoring, meeting health metrics, and more. The magic? Because UC is already a central "place" where people converge, layering AI into it means you get leverage — not just another app. 📈𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 Less time spent prepping or catching up — AI helps auto-generate agendas from past context, and post-meeting notes/recaps without someone having to do the heavy lifting. Meetings become more inclusive: real-time captions, translations, and AI voice mimicry reduce friction for global teams. Infrastructure becomes almost “invisible”: AI on endpoints compensates for noise, room acoustics, network jitter, and ensures the meeting just works. IT and UC teams get smarter alerts — devices drifting from policy, meeting quality degrading, usage anomalies — all surfaced by intelligent monitoring. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞? If AI is going to change how work gets done, it has to live where work happens — in meetings, calls, devices, and human collaboration. That’s Unified Collaboration. 👉 The next time someone elevates “AI strategy,” ask them: “What’s your AI + UC play?” ✅ If they don’t have one — that’s your opening. Let’s push this conversation forward. 💬 #ArtificialIntelligence #UnifiedCollaboration #UCaaS #AIinUC #CollaborationTools #ZoomAI #WebexAssistant #MicrosoftCopilot #FutureOfWork #ProductivityAI #MeetingIntelligence #DigitalTransformation #WorkplaceAI #EnterpriseTech #UCInnovation

Project managers who struggle with team alignment aren't using AI correctly. I watched a team spend 6 hours weekly in status meetings when AI could capture and distribute the same information in minutes. Smart project managers use AI collaboration tools to: 1. Automate meeting transcription and action item tracking 2. Create single-source dashboards that update in real-time 3. Facilitate asynchronous decisions with AI-summarized context A client implemented these changes last month. Team alignment immediately improved. Meeting time was cut in half. The gap widens daily. Connected teams leverage AI for collaboration while others drown in communication overhead.

My husband, Dave Martin (Nialli’s CTO), and I started SMART Technologies, the creator of the SMART Board, the world’s first interactive whiteboard, an innovation that transformed millions of classrooms and meeting rooms by enabling people to engage with digital content in a tactile, intuitive way. What started as a tool for K-12 quickly revealed an energizing truth – when people gather around a large surface, where everyone can see the same content and contribute simultaneously, collaboration becomes more natural, inclusive and productive. Working with large interactive displays taught us that visibility and shared context are powerful enablers of teamwork. Whether it was teachers and students or executives and teams, we saw how people could align more quickly, solve problems faster and reach consensus more effectively when they were literally on the same page. The ability for multiple users to interact at once, writing, moving content and highlighting dependencies, created a dynamic environment where ideas flowed freely and decisions were made quickly and with understanding. This insight became the foundation for our belief that the construction industry, particularly the jobsite trailer, could benefit immensely from the same principles. In construction, coordination among teams is everything. Multiple trades, tight timelines and complex dependencies demand a level of clarity and collaboration that traditional tools (like paper plans, laptops or even small displays) either can’t provide or fall short in another way. So, we imagined a jobsite trailer where the entire team (including project managers, foremen and trade leads) gather around a large interactive display or two working together on an intuitive planning application. Everyone sees the same work plans, schedules and dependencies. Multiple groups of two or more can talk and collaborate at the same time. Conflicts are identified in real time. Adjustments are made collaboratively. And because the displays are interactive, everyone can contribute directly, fostering a sense of ownership and shared accountability to an agreed plan. At SMART, we learned that when people can see more, they can do more together. We pioneered a revolution in how people interact with information, how they collaborate and how they can plan together. And nowhere is that more valuable than on the modern construction site, where every decision counts and every day matters This isn’t just a vision – it’s the mode of working that Nialli Inc. brings to jobsite construction planning. Interactive displays running Nialli Visual Planner software bring the power of digital collaboration to the physical jobsite, bridging the gap between the office and the field, eliminating roadblocks and making teams more productive. These two tools together make it easier to align teams, reduce rework and keep projects on track. #collaborativeplanning #jobsitecoordination #bigroom #leanconstruction #weeklyplanning #lastplannersystem

⚡ Employees with fewer than 2 hours of workday overlap with close collaborators take 3x longer to respond to messages. That’s not just an inconvenience...it’s a breakdown in collaboration efficiency. The shift to distributed and asynchronous work has fundamentally changed how teams operate, but the data reveals serious challenges: 📉 Low workday overlap = decision-making bottlenecks. When employees have limited shared working hours, response times lag, project cycles slow down, and real-time collaboration becomes near impossible. 💬 After-hours messaging isn’t a solution—it’s a problem. Employees who receive 15+ Slack messages after-hours report higher burnout and disengagement levels, showing that async work needs structure, not just flexibility. 🤝 Teams that fail to maintain strong cross-functional connections are 30% more likely to experience collaboration breakdowns. Lack of structured interactions leads to knowledge gaps, missed handoffs, and duplicated work. How do we optimize async collaboration without sacrificing speed and effectiveness? ✅ Set Clear Collaboration Hours 🔹 High-performing hybrid teams structure 2-3 hours of daily overlap for synchronous work. 🔹 This ensures essential decisions happen without forcing unnecessary meetings or 24/7 Slack availability. ✅ Leverage AI for Smarter Async Workflows 🔹 Automated note-taking & meeting recaps help reduce redundant calls. 🔹 Threaded Slack conversations (vs. direct messages) allow for flexible, non-disruptive collaboration. 🔹 Clear response expectations—not all messages need an instant reply. ✅ Monitor & Strengthen Network Health 🔹 Employees with fewer than 3 strong collaborations per week are at higher risk of disengagement. 🔹 Use ONA to identify disconnected teams and reinforce strategic connections. ✅ Rebalance Synchronous & Asynchronous Work 🔹 Target 30-60% async collaboration (document sharing, Slack threads, project boards) to protect focus time. 🔹 Cap meetings at 30 minutes and default to async updates when possible. 🔹 Monitor meeting-to-focus ratios—teams spending over 60% of their time in meetings struggle to execute effectively. Collaboration isn’t just about where we work...it’s about how we work. Want more collaboration insights? Make sure to check the comments for our full report.
