Our design team accidentally discovered a remote work hack that's transforming how we communicate at AirOps. It started when our head of design ditched traditional docs for quick video walkthroughs of her feedback. You'd see her cursor moving, hear her thinking out loud, catch her excitement about specific details. Our remote team across SF and NY loved it so much that the practice spread organically through the company. Rather than long Slack threads about product specs, they started sharing 2-minute videos explaining their thought process. Suddenly, everything changed: 🔰 Complex design discussions wrapped up in hours instead of days 🔰 Product feedback landed instantly without confusion or back-and-forth 🔰 Engineers started solving problems quicker without sitting through 20-minute meetings The best part is how natural it feels. No fancy process or rules. Just hit record, talk through your thoughts, and share. We never mandated this approach. But seeing how it caught on taught me that sometimes the best practices come from giving your team space to experiment. Watching this unfold at AirOps has changed how I think about remote communication. The tools matter less than creating an environment where better ways of working can emerge organically. Been thinking a lot about this lately as we scale across hubs. Would love to hear what unconventional practices have worked for your remote teams.

🚀 Satellite to VOIP: The Biggest Shift in Broadcast You’re Not Talking About Yet The rise of REMI didn’t just change how we produce live content—it changed how we move signals. When the pandemic hit, remote production exploded overnight. At Broadcast Management Group, Inc., we had already been building decentralized REMI workflows, but suddenly the demand for high-quality, low-latency IP transport went through the roof. And that pressure created innovation: 🔹 Connectivity improved 🔹 Latency dropped 🔹 Security hardened 🔹 New hardware/software ecosystems emerged What started as a REMI revolution has evolved into something bigger: a full-scale shift away from satellite and toward secure, resilient, broadcast-grade VoIP transmission—even for Tier-1 productions that were once done only on-site. And the impact has been massive: ✅ Lower carbon footprint ✅ Access to top creative/technical talent anywhere ✅ Reduced travel + operational cost ✅ Greater redundancy and resilience But here’s the real story… The shift is accelerating—fast. Today, major networks are moving their full-time transmission paths from satellite to IP. We’re talking: • 24/7 playout • Master control • Facility-to-facility connectivity • Global live transmission • Full remote operations This isn’t a future trend. It’s happening right now. At BMG, we see it every day: • Thousands of hours of live REMI programming through our DC NOC • Client facilities tied into our BMG Cloud Control Center™ via secure VOIP • Fully managed IP-based master control + global transmissions This is the new broadcast backbone. Whether you're a network, OTT/FAST channel, RSM, or enterprise brand, IP opens the door to more flexibility, lower cost, and higher quality—if you have the right infrastructure and the right partner. I'm curious to hear from my community: Are you already moving away from satellite? What’s been your biggest challenge—or biggest win—in shifting to IP transmission? Drop your thoughts below. 👇

Believe it or not, one conversation is still tickling the back of my brain from November at Connected Claims USA... We're facing a critical inflection point in insurance: a mass exodus of expertise just as our workforce becomes more distributed than ever. Those invaluable "coffee machine moments" where junior adjusters learned from veterans? The overheard conversations that taught us unwritten rules of claims handling? They're vanishing in our hybrid world. But here's what excites me: innovative carriers aren't choosing between remote work and knowledge transfer – they're reimagining both. I'm seeing: - AI-powered mentorship platforms matching veterans with newcomers across time zones - Virtual reality simulations recreating complex claims scenarios - Digital "listening posts" where institutional knowledge is captured and shared - Hybrid collaboration spaces designed specifically for knowledge transfer The most successful organizations understand that technology alone isn't the answer. It's about creating intentional moments for connection, whether virtual or physical. From my conversations with industry leaders, the winners this year won't be those who simply throw technology at the problem. Success will come to organizations that thoughtfully design environments that preserve our industry's collaborative essence while embracing modern workforce demands. What innovative approaches is your organization using to bridge the knowledge-sharing gap in this evolving landscape? Share your wins (or challenges) below! #InsuranceInnovation #KnowledgeTransfer #InsurTech

Japan is experimenting with a wild—and incredibly promising—concept: remote workers controlling physical robots from miles away, performing real, hands-on jobs without ever leaving home. Using technology from Teleexistence, operators can don a VR-like interface and “inhabit” humanoid robots located up to 8 km away. The robots handle the physical tasks—like stocking shelves or assisting in logistics—while the human provides the judgment, dexterity, and problem-solving. This could be a breakthrough for: 🤝 Labor-short industries 🌍 People with mobility challenges 🌱 Reducing commute-related emissions 🌐 Global access to local jobs. We talk a lot about the future of work being digital. But what if the future of work is physical labor performed remotely? The line between “on-site” and “remote” may be about to blur even further. Exciting to see where this goes. #RoboSapiens #innovation #robotics #futureofwork #teleexistence #japan #remotework

Top 5 Reasons To Consider REMI Broadcast Production In today's media environment, there is pressure to deliver high-quality content quickly and cost-effectively. Remote Integration Model (REMI) production has emerged as a game-changing solution, offering a flexible and efficient approach to broadcast production. Skillshot Media has invested in REMI technology and Atlanta production hubs to provide clients reliable, efficient, & scalable remote production solutions This month Skillshot directs & operates the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) Festival Gaming Garage in Toronto, Canada from Atlanta, Georgia! 🔶3 game titles 🔶16+ video signals between Toronto & Atlanta 🔶32+ audio signals between Toronto & Atlanta 🔶60+ channels of communications via Clear-Com 🔶Crew of 17 across Toronto & Atlanta, 4 on-air talent 🔶Onsite tournament operations by DSA - Digital Sports Administration Why YOU should consider REMI for your next event: 1. Cost Efficiency Traditional broadcast often requires extensive travel, large on-site crews, and complex logistics. REMI reduces these costs by centralizing production resources. Instead of deploying an entire crew to a remote location, you send a smaller team equipped with lightweight gear, while the main production is handled from the central hub - reducing travel & hotel expenses, equipment rentals and transport costs. 2. Flexibility and Scalability REMI production allows you to scale your operations according to the needs of each project. Whether you're covering a small event or a large multi-camera broadcast, REMI can be adapted to fit the scope. 3. Enhanced Communication & Collaboration Another benefit of REMI production is the improved collaboration it enables. By centralizing the production team in purpose built environment, you bring together the best talent without requiring them to be at the event site where a production control room may not exist. 4. Faster Turnaround Times In live broadcasting, speed is of the essence. With centralized production facilities, editors, directors, and producers can work simultaneously, streamlining workflow from the action to the screen. Quick turnaround, including publishing video clips to social media, is often is often critical to maintaining audience engagement. 5. Sustainability As organizations prioritize sustainability, REMI production offers a greener alternative to traditional broadcast methods. By reducing the need for travel and on-site infrastructure, REMI helps lower the carbon footprint of your productions. Conclusion Gaming and esports introduced remote competition & commentary. As other industries & events continue to evolve, REMI production will be key to staying ahead of the curve. If you’re looking to enhance your next event with live-stream production while keeping costs in check, REMI is worth serious consideration. #gaming #esports #production #events Austen Roberts Nabil Ismail Dylen Roberts Celeste Anderson C Scott Votaw

Director & Creative System Architect | Redefining How Creativity Works in Corporations

Remote work exposed something big about producing: most creative teams were relying on proximity, not process. Before 2020, a lot of teams leaned on casual desk check-ins, hallway chats, or “we’ll figure it out in the room.” When offices closed, those informal systems collapsed. Suddenly, without structure, deadlines slipped, communication stalled, and projects dragged. I experienced this firsthand. As a producer, I had to step in and rebuild from scratch: setting up digital check-ins, shared tracking docs, hybrid shoot workflows. It wasn’t about recreating the office — it was about designing clarity that worked no matter where people were. And honestly? Some of those systems ended up being better than the old ways. I’ve seen remote-first workflows keep projects more efficient and transparent than in-office ones ever did. The solution? Invest in producers who understand how to design hybrid systems. The right producer doesn’t just manage tasks — they turn scattered teams into streamlined creative machines. 👉 Whether your team is in-office, hybrid, or fully remote, one truth remains: structure is the difference between chaos and creativity.

🚀Moving to remote production can feel like a big step, but is worth it. Here's how you can make it work. 1. Begin with a small project and get it done quickly. Start with one remote shoot, like a corporate webinar or a sports match. Use a reliable bonding unit or NDI box, connect to your office network or 5G hotspots, and send signals to your central studio. When the team sees how much faster it is and how much it costs less, you can start using it in all productions. 2. Put together a team that includes both on-site and remote players. Have a small number of camera operators and audio technicians on site, but put the directors, editors and graphics teams in one place. This hybrid model reduces travel costs and last-minute cancellations, while letting your best talent work on multiple projects at the same time. 3. Standardize your workflows Make a record of every step, from putting the text into digital form and sending it to editing and delivery. Clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) mean any team member can jump in, no matter the event. Plus, you'll spot bottlenecks early and improve them continuously. 4. Team up with well-known suppliers. Choose equipment and services that offer solid support and are easy to use, whether it's providers of cellular bonding, NDI solutions or cloud-based edit platforms. Reliable partners help you avoid expensive periods when your business is not making a profit. With these steps, remote production becomes not just possible, but life-changing. It can mean faster productions, lower costs and happier clients. What's the biggest challenge you face when launching remote workflows? #RemoteProduction #BroadcastSuccess #HybridWorkflow #IBC2025
