Periscope Data is merging with Sisense

Exciting news to share – today we announced the merger of Periscope Data with Sisense, both leaders in the business intelligence and data analytics space.

Just about seven years ago, my co-founder Tom O’Neill and I created the first iteration of Periscope Data entirely as a side project. As we worked on building other business ideas, we needed a better, more efficient way to look at our data and clearly see how our business was performing. It quickly became clear that the platform we created was our best idea – the one that could truly make a difference with businesses looking to get fast insights from their data.

In the years since, we’ve evolved from a simple way to type SQL and get charts to a full-fledged analytics platform used by data teams across almost every vertical market. Our customers are running complex analytics, using our platform to analyze machine learning algorithms and answering questions that they couldn’t explore at all until recently.

We’re extremely proud of the business we’ve built, but we know there’s so much more still to get done. To achieve our mission of turning data teams into superheroes, we need to empower data teams to deliver value to the rest of the business, which means our platform must extend beyond just the data team to their business stakeholders. By combining forces, we’re creating a comprehensive business analytics platform that can serve every data user and team at a company, from a data science specialist to a sales team manager.

First and foremost, this is a people-first and culture-first merger. Both companies share a deep commitment to an inclusive culture and diverse leadership. These unique and unparalleled cultures will combine and reinforce each other in the combined company—the core of our joined DNA.

We know that together, we can build something that’s even greater than the sum of its parts, and we can’t wait to bring those benefits directly to our customers. With two great teams, industry-leading technologies and a relentless focus on our customers, we’re confident that we will achieve great things together.

Thank you all for your support. Now let’s celebrate!

Congratulations on the merger ... now comes the hard part: integration. My new book can help, Drive One Direction - How to Unleash the Accelerating Power of Alignment. I'd be happy to chat sometime about it.
