The No-Plan Content Strategy That’s Actually Working
I get asked this question all the time: “Ruby, how do you stay so consistent with content? What calendar do you use? How do you come up with all your ideas?”
And I get it - as personal brands, coaches, creators, content is everything. It connects, it sells, it builds the rhythm of your business. But here’s the honest truth?
I’ve never had a content calendar that worked for me. Not once.
I’ve tried it all. Colour-coded Trello boards. Google Sheets. Notion dashboards. Scheduling apps. Even had my assistant set up five different systems over the years. We gave it a red hot go… and I just couldn’t stick to any of them.
Every time I tried to batch 30 days of content or plan a month ahead, I’d end up feeling more disorganised. My energy would shift. I’d write something one week, and by the time it was scheduled to post, I’d already moved on. It didn’t land. It didn’t sound like me. And more than anything, it just felt forced.
So I stopped trying to follow the rules. I stopped trying to be “that girl” who has the whole quarter mapped out in advance.
And I decided to post in flow.
That means no batching, no scheduling, no content calendar. Just pure, inspired strategy based on what’s alive in my business that day. Conversations with clients. Something my husband says in passing. A post-it note from a mastermind call. A walk, a shower idea, a moment of clarity mid-coffee.
And what’s wild is… this has been the most consistent and magnetic my content has ever felt. My story views are up. Podcast listens are up 38%. Instagram’s grown by 1,500+ new followers. YouTube subscribers are rising. One spontaneous video brought in 300 new subs. And nearly every post I write, whether it’s a $7 PDF or a $2,000 offer, ends up making me money.
But here’s an important thing that I don't want to get twisted: this flow-based style doesn’t mean I don’t have a strategy. Every single post that I make still has a very clear direction.
I always know what each post is meant to lead to. Whether it’s a low ticket funnel, a high ticket pathway, or simply deeper connection, I know where it fits. It’s just not planned weeks in advance. It’s all built around what feels real and true in the moment. And that’s what makes it work.

Because when I trust my own rhythm, my own message, my own timing - my audience does too.
If content calendars light you up, go for it. But if you’ve been trying to force yourself into someone else’s system… this is your permission to find what actually works for you.
Your message doesn’t need to follow a template to make an impact. It just needs to be true.
And in this week’s podcast episode, I talk exactly about this - the behind-the-scenes of how I create content, why I ditched the calendar, and what’s actually working now that I’m letting flow lead.
Let’s stop performing and start creating what actually feels good.
PS: I might not be posting here as often, but you can always find me daily on Instagram, weekly on YouTube, and every week on the pod.
