Move On

Remember the good old days when we just started using pen in primary school? Committing mistakes and erasing it with eraser was a tough to leave habit!

Not sure if you also did this but sometimes, I used chalk to hide the wrong, but it later re-appeared. So, I began to use ink rubber, it worked, but only to leave holes in my books. I started losing internal marks because of this. (I even saw a few using saliva. Ah, we were kids!)

All we tried to do was to cover what was considered a mistake by others.

One day, my mom was checking my notebook, she noticed this and called me, she said, " Trying to erase your mistakes would only damage your book to nothing, just cross it .”

I told her in protest that I don't want people to see my mistake. She smiled and said, " What you try to cover is not your mistake but what is considered as a mistake by others. Trying to erase it will only make more people know about it, leaving a stigma for life. So, anytime you make a mistake, just strike through it and move on.” Those were the words of a lady who taught me how one can stay strong and true to not only accept the mistakes but also to learn from it and move ahead in life.

Be it small or big, we all make mistakes in life. Cross it over and move on. Don't expose yourself as a result of trying to cover your mistakes. Better things are ahead of you.

Strike out all the negativity and the errors of past, it’s time to move into 2020 with a fresh note.

Best of luck for new year.

We should acknowledge our mistakes and learn from them. And make sure we don’t repeat them 👍
