"Loretta" and The Future of Remembering with Help
Thank you Google. I watched Google's ad called "Loretta" with great interest last night. It tugged at my heartstrings and probably yours as well. Why?
- There are people who have been in our lives (or are still in our lives today) who are PRECIOUS and memories of them are PRICELESS.
- We all have a great human need to REMINISCE and to REMEMBER. We are worried we will forget. OR we are worried our children or grandchildren will forget.
Not too surprisingly, I've had people say to me this morning..."That Google ad reminded me of LifeBio." As I said, thank you Google. You have helped us raise awareness of these important issues that we ALL share. Great human needs.
Now, on to the technology.
We see the incredible ways that VOICE and artificial intelligence/machine learning will be key TOOLS and part of the solution. As voice tech gets more sophisticated, it will be a part of meeting a much bigger need. This ad was a great acknowledgment that LifeBio has been "on" to something for years with detailed, complete, rich stories and video recordings and audio recordings of thousands of everyday, "ordinary" extraordinary people who have passed away or are still living on this earth.
I'm incredibly grateful that LifeBio helps people have the chance to capture remembrances and feel as the man in the Google ad did for Loretta. People express these emotions to us every day. What a gift that LifeBio has been able to help keep so many stories safe and "captured" before these new tech tools emerged. We will continue to do so, using the latest advancements which will make the process easier over time.
And....It's our experience that people have far more than a 30-60 second recording or a few lines of text to share about their loved ones and a few quick sentences.
People pour out their hearts. It's our experience that people have detailed, lengthy, interesting stories and photos that are worth thousands of words. So here we are. LifeBio has been capturing and (safely and privately) storing them.
Yes, serving up photos and some very simple memories and voice recordings is great, but making it possible for people to share the complexity of their human experience is a whole other matter. Still, voice tools are going to be a critical part of the solution and so we will embrace the advancements in these devices and voice/photo/video technology to help people share exactly what they want to remember, record, and share with the ones they love.
This is far beyond just photos saved online or daily social media updates. It's far beyond just a few voice recordings.
It's a fact. People are priceless, and we want to remember how they made us feel.

From someone who spent most of the their life in technology and is now in the homecare space, it's great to see technology used in this way. This is so important.
People are indeed priceless.
The commercial immediately reminded me of LifeBio too!
This one hit home for sure. Very well done.
It almost made me cry...
