Important points before doing JMeter performance testing.

Before starting performance testing in JMeter you should read this article to save your time. There are some important points before doing Jmeter performance testing. Most of us do not know how much time the performance testing takes to give results. when we start to do performance testing using Jmeter as a beginner we don’t know anything about JMeter & we just start to explore. I have an experience in performance testing so I will help you to save time before start working.

Let’s see important points before doing Jmeter performance testing. Maybe you are going to face these problems while working.

  • 1. you will understand the setup using youtube videos or different articles but when you start doing performance testing in JMeter it will take you most of the time to do the setup of JMeter especially when you are doing distributed load testing in JMeter. I got the answer to 7 requests/sec for my website in distributed load testing using Jmeter. But it takes approximately 1 month to set up because I was dealing with very small errors every day & to solve them takes too much time.

Suggestion:

I will suggest you take the help of someone who has an experience in performance testing.

  • 2. One of the major problems is, that when you run the test from a specific VM server it takes too much time to execute & also you will see HTTP requests in green color but still you are not getting the data in your database or you are not able to hit the request where your website is hosted. Also in this situation, you will not get any error response. Why this is happening? Because there may be the possibility of your IP being changed means earlier you have connected to WIFI Ethernet IP & now You have connected LAN cable so IP is changed & you have not proper connection.

Suggestion:

I will suggest you, please do not change the IP address or check that you are running with the same IP addresses or the Same SUBNET mask IP addresses.

  • 3. This point is very very important because when you are doing Distributed load testing using Jmeter most people have this question that I have connected everything and done with all setup, still I am not able to hit the HTTP request through my Slave machines or VM machines from my Master machine. Why this is happening? This is happening because, while doing distributed load testing there is a possibility that you will forget to add your website and IP address in the Hosts file. Means you did everything & if you forget to add those parameters then you will not be able to hit the request to the IP where your application website is hosted.

Suggestion:

I will suggest clicking here to understand about host file to complete your distributed load testing with Jmeter.
