HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE

HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE

Since moving my #sidehustle to my #mainhustle it has become apparent how much the word 'hustle' triggers the hell out of people. Now a trigger, in this case, can be good (a real resonance with the word) or bad (a dissonance with it). I, of course, believe it encapsulates the way I live my life and my tribe of thousands. The hustle represents working hard, working smart, channelling action, taking accountability and placing energy into the things I love and believe in. I believe in it so deeply that the word HUSTLE has become one of my values.

THE POWER OF WORDS

Language is beautiful. It provides humans with an opportunity to express, articulate our emotions and create power in the way we resonate with it. If you google the word 'Hustle' you will find the first interpretation of it is 'push roughly, jostle'. Yep, that's me. I'm a big believer in pushing myself harder than I want to go so I can grow and stay out of my comfort zone. I believe that life begins at the end of your comfort zone and sometimes that means I need to give myself a good jostle to get there. TICK.

The second definition is 'to experience a state of great activity i.e. the hustle and bustle of the city'. Ooooo yes, hands up over here - I all about taking action and using momentum to make my dreams come true. On any given day I have an action list to make the most of every single day. TICK.

Thirdly, you can't avoid the word hustle and it's association to the one and only Gary Vee. The king of hustle and flow. I love Gary Vaynerchuck. I can relate to his energy and the way his brain ticks to inspire millions around the world, including me. So yes, I relate to how the hustle to Gary is real, but so are his priorities. The man is a machine who always puts family first.

And lastly, I will address the elephant in the room - hustle can mean swindle or fraud. This may have been an interpretation of the word back in the 60's and 70's but it certainly is not the way I chose to grow my brand. Many words have changed and evolved over time, hustle being one of them.

OTHERS WILL TRY AND FAIL

"But you're too nice", "you represent something different", "you should consider coining another term", "you and hustle don't mix". Many people (some with genuinely concerned intentions) tell me what I should or should not do. I know their hearts are good but I know hand on heart what it means to me. So here I am with my blazing sword of hustle loud and proud. I will use whatever word resonates with me and this unbelievable, unlimited energy source I feel when I'm one with my hustle.

Don't let language paralyse your flow. Don't allow yourself to feel stuck because of what others think you should do. Don't feel you have to change because the world won't accept you for it. Oh, your tribe will come. Your true community will support you and defend you. Just you wait. Be unapologetic about who you are and the full force and power of what you represent and you will always shine through.

So here's to the HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE!

Our life is full of opportunities each and every day. Feel the bustle, feel the action, feel the jostle, feel the uncomfortable nature of facing fear, maybe even let yourself feel the hustle.
