Mendix addresses enterprise data security concerns by ensuring that:

• Data is stored in a logically isolated database Each customer's knowledge base is completely separated from others, preventing cross-tenant access.
• Access is controlled by customer-generated keys You, the customer, generate and manage the access keys via the Mendix Portal, giving you full control over who can read or write to the knowledge base.
• No data is shared with the GenAI model unless explicitly sent This ensures data minimization and intentional sharing, aligning with privacy and compliance standards.
• Supports enterprise-grade compliance Including GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, depending on your Mendix Cloud setup.

Choose the Right Resource Pack

There are two main types:

1.        Model Resource Pack

• Provides access to LLMs like Anthropic Claude v3.5 and Cohere Embed v3.
• Includes a monthly quota of input/output tokens.
• Ideal for tasks like: Text generation Embedding generation Conversational AI

2.        Knowledge Base Resource Pack

• Offers a vector database (based on OpenSearch).
• Supports Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic search.
• Useful for grounding LLMs in your enterprise data.

Use the Mendix Cloud GenAI Connector

Once access is granted:

• Install the Mendix Cloud GenAI Connector from the Mendix Marketplace.
• This connector allows you to: Drag and drop GenAI operations into your app.

This allows Mendix developers to selectively send entities to a Knowledge Base, giving them control over:

• What data is shared with the GenAI-powered knowledge base.
• When it is shared.
• Which knowledge base it goes to, enabling:  Business-specific filtering, Cross-app collaboration, Flexible knowledge management

This selective approach is great for maintaining data governance, security, and relevance across different Mendix applications.

• Configure prompts, models, and knowledge base queries.
• Monitor token usage and performance.
