Android Developer

I've always loved tech. When I was a kid, I used to go to computer fairs with my dad. We built a 486 together. I remember getting my first email address. This was such a new thing that I didn't even know anyone else with one. I eagerly signed up to 'newsgroups' with little idea about what they were. I always loved to pull apart my latest PC (or my friends') and upgrade the memory, or replace the hard drive.

With that in mind, it's surprising I didn't get a job in tech -- or study it -- any time sooner. Yet, in my 30's, here I am in a new job managing digital projects for local government whilst building websites and learning more about coding in my spare time.

In the last 12 months, I've built a website for my wedding, relaunched it using Drupal and designed and launched a website for my mother-in-law. I've also completed an online e-commerce course and a host of other free, online courses.

I was therefore delighted to be informed today that I've been selected for a scholarship to learn Android with Udacity and funded by Google. I'll soon be on my way to creating my first app on Android.

I can't wait to get started.

Android developer - that's my new tagline.

that is great news - look forward to hearing more!
