VS Code AI Workflows Update with GitHub Copilot

Update for AI workflows in VS Code. ✨ Bring your own language model/API key is now available in GitHub Copilot. More flexibility. More control. More experimentation.👇 https://lnkd.in/eu-WFuuy

This update matters because it shifts AI from a one-size-fits-all assistant to a flexible partner, when developers can bring their own models and keys, experimentation stops being a workaround and starts being the workflow.

More flexibility can quickly become more decision chaos. When every dev uses a different model and API, keeping quality, cost, and security consistent gets harder than writing the code itself

Does this work air gapped? I’ve tried this before with ollama but it needed an active internet connection. Has anything changed?
