Most async bugs aren’t framework issues. They’re execution order issues. Let’s break something simple: Many developers expect: Start Timeout Promise End But the actual output is: Start End Promise Timeout Why? Because JavaScript has: • Call Stack • Web APIs • Microtask Queue (Promises) • Macrotask Queue (setTimeout, setInterval) Execution order: 1️⃣ Synchronous code runs first (Call Stack) 2️⃣ Microtasks (Promises) run next 3️⃣ Macrotasks (setTimeout) run after that Understanding this helps when: ✔ Debugging Angular async pipes ✔ Handling React state updates ✔ Managing Node.js API calls ✔ Preventing race conditions Async/await doesn’t change how JavaScript works. It just makes it easier to read. After 3+ years in development, I can confidently say: Strong JavaScript fundamentals reduce production bugs more than any framework knowledge. Most JavaScript developers use async features every day — setTimeout, fetch, Promises — but the behavior can still feel confusing until the Event Loop becomes clear. JavaScript runs on a single thread using a Call Stack. When asynchronous operations occur, they are handled by the runtime (browser or Node.js), and their callbacks are placed into a queue. The Event Loop continuously checks: 1️⃣ Is the Call Stack empty? 2️⃣ Is there a callback waiting in the queue? If the stack is empty, the next callback moves into the stack and executes. Example: setTimeout(() => console.log("A"), 0); console.log("B"); Output: B A Even with 0ms, the setTimeout callback runs after the current call stack clears. Understanding this small detail explains a lot of “unexpected” async behavior in JavaScript. 🚀 Day 15/100 – #100DaysOfCode Today I focused on core React concepts that are essential for building modern frontend applications. Here are the key topics I explored: 🔹 What is React? ReactJS is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces, especially for creating fast and interactive single-page applications (SPA). It allows developers to build reusable UI components and manage application state efficiently. 🔹 Components Components are the foundation upon which we build user interfaces (UI). Also, a React component is simply a JavaScript function that returns JSX and its name must start with a capital letter. By combining multiple components, we can build complex user interfaces in a structured way. 🔹 JSX (JavaScript XML) JSX is a syntax extension for JavaScript that allows developers to write HTML-like code inside JavaScript files. It makes UI code more readable and easier to maintain. 🔹 Functional Rendering In React, the UI is treated as a function of data. Instead of manually manipulating the DOM, components describe what the UI should look like based on the current data or state. Are React and Next.js Making Developers 'Lazy' and 'Weak' at JavaScript? We are living in the golden age of abstractions, but at what cost? Lately, I’ve noticed a shifting trend: new developers are jumping straight into Next.js or React before they even understand how the browser actually works. While these frameworks make building UIs faster, they are creating a generation of "Framework Operators" rather than "Software Engineers." Why we are becoming 'Lazy': Abstraction Overload: We know how useState works, but we don't understand Closures or Lexical Scope. Dependency Crutch: Instead of writing a simple utility function, we reach for an NPM package. We’ve traded logic for npm install. Magic Features: Next.js handles routing, data fetching, and SSR so seamlessly that many developers no longer understand Vanilla Web APIs, the Request/Response cycle, or DOM Manipulation. The Risk: When you only master a framework, your skills have an expiration date. Frameworks change, APIs get deprecated, and trends shift. If the "magic" of the framework is removed, can you still solve the problem? A framework should be a power tool for productivity, not a replacement for fundamental knowledge. 💡 My Advice: By all means, use React to build your products. But spend your weekends with Vanilla JavaScript. Master the language, not just the library. React will eventually be replaced. JavaScript (and your logic) will not. What’s your take? 💡 Before React. Before Node. Before fancy frameworks. There is HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. And honestly? Most bugs I’ve seen in projects come from weak fundamentals — not advanced concepts. Here’s what strong basics actually mean: 🔹 HTML Understanding semantic tags, accessibility, proper structure. 🔹 CSS Knowing flexbox, positioning, box model, responsiveness — not just copying styles. 🔹 JavaScript Understanding closures, async/await, event loop, array methods — not just syntax.
