Here is a post on X highlighting a long-neglected challenge in specialty care. It regards the conundrum of transferring images and other clinical data between healthcare institutions. Fortunately, modern solutions now include AI chatbots that can speak with the "other side" to answer their questions and clarify that HIPAA doesn't give them an option to postpone the transfer. These systems not only help patients avoid the hassle but also free up clinicians so they can focus on delivering care rather than chasing down disks and urging radiology techs to push over the images. One of my favorite solutions is a web-based product that avoids the hassle of approvals for software installation on hospital networks, which you can learn about here: https://auratera.com #DitchTheDisk
One challenge is the data can be in many systems (EMR, PACS, oncology information systems, radiation treatment planning system, etc). Very important but hard problem to solve. Good work as we all chip away at these issues.
This is far bigger issue that can be solved by a single academic/startup group alone. Thats why since last year we are building an international consensus data standards with IHE-RO called XMRT Exchange Management of Radiation Therapy and we recently got Chinese standards on board. So far we are heavily supported by all major vendors globally and a timeline of around 2 years.
We solved this at Qure.ai with our partnership with Microsoft and PowerShare.

Thanks for the shout-out, Dr. Drew Moghanaki. Staff & patients shouldn't have to coordinate something as simple as an image transfer. I built Auratera after a hospitalization where I couldn't access my own health info. We ensure providers & patients can pull imaging & reports digitally from any institution -- without the usual chasing
