Is it too late to learn Python in the age of AI? For a long time, I let that question keep me on the sidelines. As I watched AI evolve from a buzzword to a tool that can write its own code, I found myself spiraling into "what ifs": Is it even worth learning to code if an AI can do it for me? Am I too late to the game now that LLMs are everywhere? How can I compete with people who have years of experience plus AI at their fingertips? I realized I was self-sabotaging before I even wrote my first line of code. To move forward, I had to stop seeing AI as a reason not to learn, and start seeing it as the ultimate reason to learn. Why am I learning Python right now? Because AI isn't a replacement for logic; it’s an accelerator. I want to understand the "how" behind the models we use every day. Python gives me the satisfaction of seeing how systems actually think. In a world driven by AI, the best way to stay relevant isn't to step back, it's to dive deeper into the foundation. It turns out, the best time to start wasn't ten years ago, it’s right now. #ContinuousLearning #PythonLearning
That is awesome that you are learning Python! It is a power tool that can be used in so many domains (data analysis, machine learning, automation, web development, simple games, ...). Don't let AI have all the fun. Learning to program unlocks new ways of thinking, problem solving, debugging, and creating. I definitely think it is good to learn the fundamentals of programming, and Python is a great place to start (it is also what I started with, so I am biased). In my opinion, the syntax is straightforward, and it is easier to get code running and learn compared to many other languages.
Best of luck on your learning journey and kudos for your mindset! 🎉 Understanding the fundamentals is essential to guide AI toward optimal solutions and continuous learning is the ultimate skill. The combination of strong foundations and curiosity is what truly sets people apart in this new era.

2moI’m curious to hear your thoughts: With AI writing so much code now, do you think it's more important or less important for professionals to understand the fundamentals of a language like Python? I’m betting on 'more important'!
