🚀 Spring Framework 🌱 | Day 2 – Dependency Injection (DI) Today I understood Dependency Injection not just as a concept… but as a mindset shift 💡 👉 In real life, DI is everywhere. Think about this 👇 ☕ When you order tea in an office You don’t go to the kitchen, buy milk, sugar, tea powder and make it yourself. 👉 Someone provides it to you. 🚗 When you book a cab You don’t build the car or hire a driver manually. 👉 The system injects the service you need. 🏢 In a company project A developer doesn’t create every object manually. 👉 Framework like Spring injects dependencies automatically. 💡 Same happens in Spring Instead of: ❌ Creating objects using "new" We let Spring: ✅ Create objects ✅ Manage them ✅ Inject wherever needed 🔹 How it works internally (simple view): 👉 Spring scans classes 👉 Creates beans in IOC container 👉 Finds dependencies 👉 Injects them using annotations 🔥 Why this matters? - Loose coupling - Easy testing - Clean & scalable code 👉 Small concept, but it completely changes how you build applications. #SpringFramework #Java #BackendDevelopment #LearningJourney #SpringBoot #TechGrowth

It’s less about creating everything manually and more about letting Spring manage things efficiently. 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗢𝗣 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 Repetitive "boilerplate" code is the silent killer of clean architectures. In Spring Boot development, we often see service layers drowning in code that has nothing to do with the actual business logic. Things like: • 📝 Logging method entry and exit. • 🛡️ Security/Permission checks. • ⏱️ Performance monitoring (measuring execution time). • 🔄 Cache eviction management. If you are manually adding this logic to every service method, you’re creating a maintenance nightmare. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Spring Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP). 𝗔𝗢𝗣 lets you separate these "Cross-Cutting Concerns" from your business logic. You write the logic once in an 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁, and Spring automatically applies it whenever specific methods are called. Your Service class remains clean, readable, and focused on one responsibility. How It Works (Example): Instead of copying 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿.𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼(...) into every method, you create a single Logging 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 like the one below. Using @𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 advice, you can intercept the method call, start a timer, execute the actual method, and then log the result. The Benefits: ✅ 𝗗𝗥𝗬 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲: Write logic once, use it everywhere. ✅ 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Business logic doesn’t know (or care) about logging/monitoring. ✅ 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Enable or disable cross-cutting features easily. 🛑 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗶𝗽: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘅𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗽! When using Spring AOP (by default), Spring creates a dynamic proxy object around your target class. The AOP logic only executes when you call the method through that proxy. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀: If 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙𝘼() inside your Service class calls 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙𝘽() (which is also inside the same class), the call is internal and bypasses the proxy. Your AOP advice for 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙𝘽() will NOT run. When I look at a Java codebase for the first time, I don't start with the business logic. Here's exactly what I check in the first 30 minutes — and what it tells me about the team that built it. ─── MINUTE 0–5: The build file ─── How many dependencies are there? Are versions pinned or floating? Is there anything in there that shouldn't exist? A bloated pom.xml tells me the team added without ever removing. Technical debt starts here. ─── MINUTE 5–10: The package structure ─── Is it organised by layer (controller/service/repo)? Or by feature (orders/users/payments)? Neither is wrong. But inconsistency tells me nobody agreed — and that means nobody was leading. ─── MINUTE 10–15: Exception handling ─── Are exceptions caught and swallowed silently? Are there empty catch blocks? Is there a global exception handler? Empty catch blocks are where bugs go to hide forever. ─── MINUTE 15–20: The tests ─── What's the coverage? (Not the number — the quality) Are they testing behaviour or implementation? Do they have meaningful names? A test named test1() tells me everything I need to know. ─── MINUTE 20–25: Logging ─── Is there enough to debug a production issue? Is there too much (log noise)? Are sensitive fields being logged? (Passwords, tokens, PII) ─── MINUTE 25–30: @Transactional usage ─── Is it applied correctly? Is it on private methods? (Silently ignored) Is it on everything? (Misunderstood) By the time I'm done, I know the team's level, their communication habits, and where the bodies are buried. The classic Spring Boot validation trap: you have a User DTO. On create, id must be null. On update, id must be present. So you either duplicate the DTO or add conditional checks that progressively make the codebase harder to read. Validation Groups solve this cleanly. You define interface markers — OnCreate and OnUpdate — then annotate constraints with the appropriate group. @Null(groups = OnCreate.class) on id for creates. @NotNull(groups = OnUpdate.class) on id for updates. Same DTO, entirely different validation behaviour depending on which group you pass via Validated in the controller. The javax.validation spec has supported this for years, but it doesn't get discussed enough. Teams discover it after the fact, usually after spending two sprints maintaining parallel DTO hierarchies that drift out of sync. A few things worth knowing: • Default constraints (no group specified) only run when no groups are passed. Once you start using groups, be explicit everywhere. • Spring's Validated is what enables group selection — Valid doesn't support groups. • Validation Groups compose — you can pass multiple groups when needed. I understood Dependency Injection… but I was confused about how it actually works in code. Then I learned about @Autowired What does @Autowired do? It tells Spring: “Inject the required dependency here automatically.” --- Without @Autowired: You manually create objects → more code, tight coupling With @Autowired: Spring finds and injects the object → cleaner code --- How it works (simple): Spring scans your project → Finds matching beans → Injects them where @Autowired is used --- Why it matters: • Reduces boilerplate code • Improves maintainability • Enables loose coupling --- In simple terms: @Autowired = “Spring, you handle this for me.” --- Learning step by step and building strong fundamentals Next: I’ll explain how Spring Boot handles REST APIs internally. #SpringBoot #Java #BackendDevelopment #LearningInPublic #FullStackDeveloper

🚀 30 Days of Spring Boot – Day 2 Today I explored one of the core foundations of Spring — Beans & Their Management. 🔹 What I learned: ✅ Spring Bean A Bean is a Java object managed by the Spring IoC container. Instead of creating objects using new, Spring handles creation, lifecycle, and dependency injection. ✅ @Bean Annotation Used to manually define a Bean inside a @Configuration class. It gives full control over object creation — especially useful for third-party classes or custom configurations. 💡 Even though we use new inside a @Bean method, it is executed only once by Spring (Singleton scope by default) and reused across the application. ✅ Bean Scope Defines how many instances Spring creates: Singleton → Single shared instance (default) Prototype → New instance every time Request → Per HTTP request Session → Per user session 🔥 Key Takeaway: “Write new once, let Spring manage and reuse the object everywhere.” 📌 Strengthening fundamentals step by step. #SpringBoot #Java #BackendDevelopment #LearningJourney #100DaysOfCode #Microservices

🔄 Understanding IoC in Spring & Spring Boot (Made Simple) Ever wondered what makes Spring and Spring Boot so powerful? The answer lies in one core concept: Inversion of Control (IoC). 👉 What is IoC? Traditionally, your code controls object creation. With IoC, the control is inverted — the framework manages object creation and dependencies for you. 👉 In Spring: - You manually configure beans (XML / Java Config) - You tell the container what to create and how 👉 In Spring Boot: - Auto-configuration does the heavy lifting - Minimal setup — just annotate and go 🚀 👉 How does it work? Architecture vs. Speed: When is 8 classes for one task actually worth it? 🚀 As a Senior Developer, I often see a common struggle: when to keep it simple and when to build a robust architecture. In my latest video for Let’s Code Java, I took a simple console app and transformed it into a professional, service-oriented system. The result? I added 8 new classes (builders, services, exception hierarchy), but technically... I didn’t add a single new feature. Was it worth it? It depends. If you're building a prototype, this level of engineering will only slow you down. But if you’re working on a long-term enterprise project, skipping this foundation will cost you twice as much time later when you have to refactor "dirty" code.
