    Feedback is easy to get, hard to use. The key is triangulation. Collecting early player feedback is the first step. The real challenge for LiveOps is turning a flood of often contradictory opinions into a clear, prioritized action plan. Simply chasing the most upvoted Reddit thread is a recipe for disaster. The key is to triangulate your data. Before acting on any piece of feedback, run it through this framework: 🤔 What vs. Why: Combine quantitative data with qualitative feedback. Your telemetry tells you what players are doing (e.g., "70% of players aren't using the crafting system"). Community feedback tells you why ("The UI is confusing, and the rewards aren't worth it"). ✅ You need both to form a complete picture. 📊 Segment the source: Not all feedback is equal. Is this issue coming from brand-new players in the FTUE, or from your most hardcore beta testers? ✅ A problem blocking new player conversion is a higher priority than an endgame balancing complaint. 🔎 Find the problem, not the solution: Players are experts at identifying problems but often suggest flawed solutions. ✅ Listen for the underlying pain point. "We need a 50% damage buff!" might really mean "This fight feels too long and unrewarding." 🗒️ Quantify the Qualitative: Use tools to tag and track sentiment in your community channels. How many people are actually talking about this issue? Is it a loud minority of 10 people, or a growing concern among hundreds? ✅ Identifying how widespread an issue is is massively important, especially when it comes to prioritising next steps across all your initiatives. 🫶 Close the Loop: The final, critical step. Communicate back to the community. Let them know you've heard their feedback, what you're doing about it, and why. ✅ This builds immense trust and encourages higher-quality feedback in the future. When you can validate a community complaint with hard data and segment its impact, you're no longer guessing - you're making informed, strategic decisions.

    Want to know who's best to validate whether your Customer Success services, programs, and processes are effective? It's not a trick question. The answer is: your customers! Yes, even at Scale and for Digital CS. We often get caught up in looking at data that's easily accessible (aka product telemetry or retention rates) to determine the effectiveness of our CS programs. And while that data is invaluable and tells you a lot, it's no replacement for hearing from your customers directly. If you're a CS leader, it's important to be hearing from customers directly and getting their feedback on if your model of Customer Success is actually helping them achieve their goals. Product telemetry isn't enough. But if you run Digital or Scale CS, it can feel daunting to identify what customers to talk to. Consider this approach. 1. Start with QUANTITATIVE FEEDBACK. Use surveys (whether email or in-app) to collect quantitative feedback from a large volume of customers on their experience with your Customer Success motion. This doesn't have to be overly complicated, but it is a simple way to begin collecting feedback from customers directly on if the things you're doing are having the impact you want. Your questions should be specific enough that customers know they aren't giving feedback on the product itself. But don't make it so in depth that nobody has the time to fill it out. A couple simple questions with dropdown answers and at least one or two free text fields is all it takes initially. But this survey data isn't the end, since it can only tell you so much about the "why" behind their sentiment. Which leads to... 2. Use responses to your surveys to identify customers to speak with and get QUALITATIVE FEEDBACK. Once you receive back the feedback from customers in your survey, use those responses to identify customers to actually speak with. You can select any higher-ARR customers who gave particularly negative or positive feedback so you can get more color around what's working or not working. You can select those that wrote a lot in the free text field so they're clearly invested in sharing their response. Or you could go the opposite route and target customers who DIDN'T leave any free text response. There are many avenues to approach, but select a reasonable amount of customers and reach out to them. Schedule time to speak with them and get more of their perspective. This accomplishes two things: -It gives further validation and voice to customers who may have been frustrated. Nobody likes to submit a response to a survey and feel like it goes nowhere. -It allows you to get meaningful insight beyond just what was shared on the survey so you can make real adjustments based on the experience of customers in reality. So yes, be data-driven when measuring effectiveness. But don't let that replace hearing from customers directly. After all, the customer is who we're trying to make successful. #CustomerSuccess #Digital #Scale #SaaS

    I was working on this project for a company aiming to improve the customer experience of their client's businesses. It involved analysing the customer feedback to identify what's working, what's not, and what can be done to improve the user experience. ✔️ Used quantitative analysis to understand the distribution of customer reviews and overall sentiment. ✔️ Performed sentiment analysis to measure the degree of positive vs. negative feedback. ✔️ Used Word Clouds and Topic Modeling, to identify the most common pain points and strengths. Spoiler: Safety and affordability are big wins, but app bugs and pricing complaints need attention. ✔️ Calculated NPS to understand customer loyalty. Turns out, while most customers are happy, there’s a significant group that’s facing issues—especially with driver cancellations and app functionality. The 38.82 NPS showed there’s room to turn passive customers into promoters! It showed how powerful customer feedback can be when analyzed the right way. By analyzing data and understanding the real sentiments behind reviews, businesses like Chattermill can help their clients boost loyalty, improve satisfaction, and create a lasting impact.     I talked with 100+ product over the last months They all had the same set of problems Here's the solution (5 steps) Every product leader told me at least one of the following: "Our feedback is all over the place" "PMs have no single source of truth for feedback" "We'd like to back our prioritization with customer feedback" Here's a step-by-step guide to fix this 1/ Where is your most qualitative feedback coming from? What sources do you need to consolidate? - Make an exhaustive list of your feedback sources - Rank them by quality & importance - Find a way to access that data (API, Zapier, Make, scraping, csv exports, ...) 2/ Route all that feedback to a "database-like" tool, a table of records Multiple options here: Airtable, Notion, Google sheets and of course Cycle App -Tag feedback with their related properties: source, product area customer id or email, etc - Match customer properties to the feedback based on customer unique id or email 3/ Calibrate an AI model Teach the AI the following: - What do you want to extract from your raw feedback? - What type of feedback is the AI looking at and how should it process it? (an NPS survey should be treated differently than a user interview) - What features can be mapped to the relevant quotes inside the raw feedback Typically, this won't work out of the box. You need to give your model enough human-verified examples (calibrate it), so it can actually become accurate in finding the right features/discoveries to map. This part is tricky, but without this you'll never be able to process large volumes of feedback and unstructured data. 4/ Plug a BI tool like Google data studio or other on your feedback database - Start by listing your business questions and build charts answering them - Include customer attributes as filters in the dashboard so you can filter on specific customer segments. Every feedback is not equal. - Make sure these dashboards are shared/accessible to the entire product team 5/ Plug your product delivery on top of this At this point, you have a big database full of customer insights and a customer voice dashboard. But it's not actionable. - You want to convert discoveries into actual Jira epics or Linear projects & issues. - You need to have some notion of "status" sync, otherwise your feedback database won't clean itself and you won't be able to close feedback loops The diagram below gives you a clear overview of how to build your own system.
