It fails because we design vision systems like demos… and deploy them into chaos. Let’s break down what actually works in the real world 👇 Where AI vision is being tested the hardest 🚗 Self-driving cars 📹 Security & surveillance 🏭 Industrial inspection Different domains. Same brutal constraints. What real deployments teach us (not lab experiments) 1️⃣ Vision models don’t fail first — data pipelines do Camera drift, lighting shifts, dirty lenses. Your model accuracy drops before inference even starts. 2️⃣ Edge latency beats model accuracy In autonomous systems, a 90% accurate model in 30 ms beats a 97% accurate one in 300 ms. Physics doesn’t care about benchmarks. 3️⃣ Most “AI vision” systems are actually hybrid systems Rules + heuristics + classical CV + deep learning.
