We talk too much about red flags 🚩 Probably because humans are typically attracted to bad news. As much as there are red flags everywhere and in every situation, green flags are also a possibility. In my years of practice, I have observed that initiating programs go beyond feasibility and viability. How do you access the likely success of an initiative? Investors, organizations and communities can identify and prioritize sustainable strategies that lead to positive outcomes and long-term benefits. Some key green flags to consider for sustainability programs include: 1. Clear and measurable goals: These must outline the desired outcomes and objectives of the program and they should be SMART to ensure accountability and track progress towards sustainability targets. 2. Stakeholder engagement: Effective stakeholder engagement means involving a diverse range of stakeholders, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of sustainability initiatives. Engaging stakeholders helps to build support, enhance transparency, and ensure that sustainability programs are responsive to the needs and concerns of all stakeholders. 3.
