💬 “What’s your value proposition?” A question that hit me harder than expected—and I run IronLady Energy Advisors. When a fellow entrepreneur challenged me to define it, not just do it, I realized how easy it is to focus on deliverables, not the “why” behind them. So I dug in. Here’s what helped: 🧭 1. Audit your impact. List every project or client win—not just what you did, but how it changed their trajectory. This is your proof of value. 💡 2. Define your unique edge. What do you do differently than peers? For IronLady, it’s blending subsurface science, AI fluency, and brand storytelling to deliver clarity with velocity. 📣 3. Translate expertise into outcomes. Skip the jargon. Focus on what your expertise empowers others to do better, faster, or smarter. 🎯 4. Make it a promise. A value proposition isn’t just positioning—it’s a commitment. Mine: Helping operators scale production performance with data-driven clarity and strategic punch. If you’re building your brand or venture, your value isn’t what you say you do—it’s the change you create when you show up. Now I’m curious: How do you define yours? #Entrepreneurship #ValueProposition #EnergyAdvisors #IronLadyEnergy #PersonalBranding #GrowthWithPurpose #WomenInEnergy

Some of the worst advice out there... not only can you smell it a mile away, but it actually sets you back more than in propels you forward. “Fake It Till You Make It." The mentality might seem harmless... or even empowering. but here’s the truth: it’s a strategy that holds you back in the long run. When we rely on posturing or “faking it,” we create temporary value... a shaky foundation that breeds uncertainty and self-doubt over time. This approach can chip away at genuine confidence, leaving you second-guessing your abilities rather than embracing your true strengths. If you’re “kind of” believing in what you can do, it will lead to “kind of” results. And let’s be honest: no one invests in that. Here’s a path that builds lasting impact and real credibility: 1. Embrace Where You Are Right Now. Actionable Step: List out the top 3 strengths you bring to the table today. Focus on where you already add value. Use this clarity as your guide when you’re in new or challenging situations. This way, you’re building on a solid, authentic foundation... not pretending to be somewhere you’re not. Starting with a clear view of your strengths gives you a confidence rooted in reality... and equips you to approach each opportunity with authenticity. 2. Get Clear on Your Unique Value. Actionable Step: Identify one specific problem you can solve that aligns with your skills and expertise. Write it down in one sentence (e.g., “I help teams bridge strategy and execution gaps to drive measurable results.”). Use this as a go-to when you’re speaking with potential clients or partners. This clarity around your value will set you apart, making it easier for others to see why they should work with you... not just anyone who fits the role. 3. Bridge Your Gaps Authentically. Actionable Step: Acknowledge a skill or area you’re actively developing. Take one concrete action toward growth each week... whether that’s: - reading - building relationships - mentoring Share this journey with trusted colleagues or clients... without underselling yourself... so they experience your commitment to excellence and your drive to evolve. Owning both your strengths and areas for growth builds long-term credibility and shows others that you’re committed to being the best version of yourself. It’s how true leaders inspire and foster trust. And trust accelerates EVERYTHING.

You don’t get hired for effort. You get hired for value... So many people spend countless hours taking courses, acquiring new skills - only to face rejection after rejection. During your job search, it’s easy to think you need a whole new set of skills to meet every requirement. But that’s not the case. The first skill you need is the ability to explain why your current skills are valuable—𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. If you can’t explain the value of what you already know, no amount of new skills or degrees will help. The candidates that get hired aren't the most educated or most experienced... The ones that get hired are the best at positioning their existing skills in the most compelling way. Here’s the good news: If you can identify your skills and communicate them effectively, you can do anything. So, instead of chasing more certifications, try this: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 (𝗣𝗩𝗦) 👇 1. Introduction: A clear overview of your experience and core expertise. 2. Your Why: Your motivation and passion for your field or target role. 3. Achievements: 2–3 concrete accomplishments that showcase your value. 4. Closing Statement: A strong statement about your ability to deliver results. Then, put it together into an impactful statement (𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 - it's too long to include here). You highlight your value. And you speak with confidence. One of our clients put it to the test “I had a recruiter call today for a $250K OTE AE role. I used the PVS and it worked perfectly.” The Personal Value Summary works because it shifts the focus from what you’ve done… …to why it matters. Give it a try. It’s a game-changer for your career. 💪

Whether you’re promoting yourself in an interview, pitching a product, or asking for a raise, here’s how to persuade the person without being manipulative: At our Science of People lab, I’ve found that the most persuasive communicators master what I call the Two C’s: 1. Clarity Confusion kills persuasion. People can’t say yes to what they don’t understand. So before anything else, get crystal clear about what you do, who you help, and why it matters. 2. Curiosity Humans are drawn to questions, not monologues. If you can make someone genuinely curious, you’ve already earned their attention. Now let’s put those into practice. Step 1: Forget the elevator pitch Instead, think in terms of value propositions, statements that clearly show what you do and spark curiosity about how you do it. For example: “Meeting planners and association executives hire me to make them look like superstars.” That’s from Don Levine Jr. Every time he says it, people respond with: “Really? How do you do that?” And that “how” is the golden question, the one that opens real conversations instead of shutting them down. Step 2: Invite dialogue Your goal isn’t to “pitch.” It’s to start a discussion. When you state your value clearly, people naturally ask follow-up questions, and that’s when your expertise shines. Compare these two: • “I’m an engineer for a software company. We specialize in cybersecurity” • “I’m an engineer trying to solve the three biggest challenges in cybersecurity today” The second version invites curiosity and sets you up as an authority. Step 3: Be ready for “how” and “why” A great value proposition always leads to deeper questions: “How do you do that?” or “Why do you do that?” That’s your chance to explain your mission. Those “how” and “why” conversations create trust and credibility faster than any sales script ever could. Step 4: Add the third C (Courage) Yes, I’m sneaking in one more C. Because clarity and curiosity alone aren’t enough. You also need courage. • Courage to sound different • Courage to be memorable It takes confidence to say something like: • “I’m a human behavior hacker” • Or Jim McConnell’s favorite: “I keep my clients off the front page, keep executives alive and out of jail, and make suppliers accountable” • Or even a wedding planner who says: “Brides hire me so they can sleep better at night.” Each of those lines makes people lean in. Step 5: Create your own Here’s a simple fill-in-the-blank template to build your value proposition: I help [target audience] in [category] by [benefit/outcome] so they can [result]. Examples: • “For store owners in retail, our micro camera system provides fail-safe, worry-free security 24/7” • “I help startup entrepreneurs in tech hire the right people so they can focus on growth.” Now, I’m curious: what’s your value proposition? Fill in the blanks and share it below. I’d love to see what you come up with.
