Are You Data Driven?

Of course you are. Every organization is. And I'm sure you are evidence based and tech savvy too.

But what does all that really mean? Some organizations, such as Amazon, Google and Facebook were built around data and algorithms, and that heritage is fully reflected in their people, their business processes and their systems.

What if your organization's success was built on something else, such as a unique market position or longstanding relationships? That heritage is also reflected in your people, processes and systems. Being truly data driven might mean significant changes to your culture and infrastructure. Whatever the benefits of being data driven, major cultural change is not for the faint of heart and should not be undertaken lightly.

Just  a few years ago, your ability to be data driven would have been limited primarily by the availability of data and the algorithmic computing power to analyze it. These limitations still exist, but they are being overcome everyday. Organizations that were not created data driven are limited by their capacity to understand and use the data and algorithms they have available to them.

So, let's ask the question again: are you data driven?
