Working Without Learning is Staying Motionless
Many people do not like the idea of work. They sometimes equate work with stress. Well, that is not surprising, after all work most times involves breaking a sweat. Also, who does not like a bit of relaxing - watching your favorite movie or football game. But there is a problem, as we all know with spending all of our time watching television or playing a video game. Many of us agree that it would be life threatening.
I have to say that the major reason why many people do not like work is that they have nothing to gain from working or participating in a specific kind of work. Let us take a look at this for a moment. usually, a person will undertake an assignment because of a reward attached to that assignment. For example, workers in a firm all work hard because at the end of the month or any other period, there is going to be payment for work done. Many people feel that if there are more allowances attached to a person's work, he or she will work harder. I do not know if such will increase the person's joy as a result of working for the reward.
I think that the best way to benefit from work, is to learn while working. If a person is able to learn from the work experience he is involved in, that will have a lot more impact on the individual, those around him and the work environment itself. Learning from work is the best reason to work. I find that if I undertake an assignment and I have nothing to learn from it, then I lose interest and I begin to think of that work as stressful.
So when undertaking an assignment, always take time to learn a thing or two from it. It is said that the best way to learn is by doing, and most work is all about doing. When you do, you learn and you have more joy from work because you gained something that would last a lifetime not just a reward that would last just a few days.
I always love to enjoy my work. Your thoughts about learning while working is the most important part of work. If there is no experience to share with others or to impact others with on your job, there will be no fulfilment of purpose. Success is investing your personality, your experience and creativity on others. So I dont find the work I do as stress but to meet others needs. That is success.....ability to impact others with the investment of your personality.
