When Three Becomes One

When Three Becomes One

Well now, that was quite the week - One big final push, a couple of restless nights, a lot of stress and just like that Datactics is now all together on one floor in our HQ @ Lanyon Quay.

After months of work, a lot of change and with the company continuing to grow this week saw the team make the final move to get all of our infrastructure and staff into our shiny new offices. Starting this year across three floors then down to two mid way through and now to one the team has worked tirelessly to do all the work to make this possible whilst keeping the company functioning all with only minimal downtime and disruption.

A massive shoutout to Paddy Donnelly , Victoria Keenan and Jessie Ferguson for all the work especially this week that has made this transition possible. Without your hard work, dedication and professionalism I am not sure how this week would have went.

When I joined Datactics over 3 years ago now my first desk was up on the good old second floor - I can still remember those first tentative days and months as I tried to find my feet and get the company working as "one network" whilst split across 2 floors - From those first early steps with VPN's running between routers its been amazing to see how we have grown into the complex infrastructure we have today. With that in mind, it was with sadness that we removed the last equipment from the server room, pulled the door shut, turned off the lights and locked up the second floor for one last time.

I have such good memories of my time in that office unit; from the packed days of 2019 to the days in 2020 where due to the lockdown it was minimal staff in and all the mitigations in place - My favorite memory however occurred in 2020 and resulted in Paddy and myself being locked "in" the unit as we tried to deploy some new servers - The full story can be read here: https://www.garudax.id/pulse/great-officeescape-david-brown/

I am not sure about you but I am very glad to see this weekend arrive - I hope that whatever you get up to you enjoy it and that you get some downtime from the daily grind - I know I intend to before it all kicks off again next week.
