What Else?

Henceforth, I’m capping my daily limit on viral news about viruses to ten minutes. OK, twenty minutes, but that’s including memes.

The news and press have been consumed by virus. I offer these as some ideas to reignite you to get focused on other things in your free time:

Home

  • Distance Learning – the kids start this week. It appears they’re using the equivalent of ten year old business meeting tech (newer providers/names, but same basic tech). If you’re in the education market, an enormous transformation will happen in the following couple years.
  • Computing / Data – Oculus games have consumed my SSDs. Other drives are overrun with files of various types covering everything including analysis-galore attempts to call the “bottom” of the stock market (good luck, right…). File data storage and accompanying logic must be booming!
  • Fresh vs Pure air – the air equivalent of hand (in)sanitizer. NOTE: I blended insane with sanitizer after my wife put a bottle in each door of the car in ‘07ish (not so insane now… go honey!). That said, I need a clever name for all these air purifiers that have popped up all over the house.

Sport/Music

  • Since team games are offline, I heard gamblers were betting on marbles. Yikes! E-sports are en fuego. Surf and snowboard adventurers are still charging. For starters, check out Instagram @jeremyjones for wilderness fresh powder and @whoisjob for something mental/nutty and probably aquatic.
  • Live streaming a concert is OK. It was good to catch a little @dropkickmurphys on St. Patrick’s Day from Boston. That said, I’d love to see that on my VR. Here’s to the Guinness I’d have with that!

Geo

  • Russia – hypersonic missile tech. Have they tested it lately? Sold/dealt it to anyone?
  • China – belt & road initiative. With virally scorched earth in their large partners (e.g. Iran, Italy, …), what grows in the scorch?
  • Australia – on the topic of scorch… are they still burning down under? Were there any mind-rocking satellite images of the fire? Did the fire solve the giant poison toad problem?
