Web Development
I - Introduction:-
Web development is the art and science of building websites and web applications that run on the internet or intranets. It encompasses everything from creating simple static pages of plain text to complex web-based applications, e-commerce platforms, and social networking services. With the ever-growing importance of the internet in our daily lives, web development has become a crucial skill set for businesses and individuals alike.
1. Front-End Development:-
This refers to the part of the website that users interact with directly. It is also known as client-side development. Front-end developers use languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build and design web pages. They focus on the layout, design, and interactivity of the site.
i)- HTML (HyperText Markup Language)** is the standard markup language used to create web pages. It provides the structure of the page.
ii)- CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)** is used to style the HTML elements. It controls the layout, colors, fonts, and overall visual appeal of the site.
iii)- JS (JavaScript) is a scripting language that allows developers to create interactive elements on the website, such as sliders, forms, and animations.
2. Back-End Development:-
Back-end development, also known as server-side development, involves building and maintaining the server, database, and application logic that powers the front-end. The back-end is what makes the website dynamic, processing user requests, managing databases, and serving content.

i)- Common languages used in back-end development include **Python**, **Java**, **Ruby**, **PHP**, and **Node.js**. These languages interact with databases, manage user authentication, and perform other essential server-side functions.
ii)- Databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL store and manage the data required by the website or application.
3. Full-Stack Development:-
Full-stack developers are proficient in both front-end and back-end development. They have the ability to manage the entire web development process from start to finish, which includes creating the user interface, developing server-side logic, and managing databases.
Key Technologies and Tools in Web Development:-
i)- Version Control Systems: Tools like Git allow developers to track changes in their codebase, collaborate with other developers, and manage different versions of their projects.
ii)- Frameworks and Libraries: Frameworks such as **React** (for front-end) and **Django** (for back-end) provide pre-written code and tools to streamline development. Libraries like **jQuery** simplify JavaScript coding by providing pre-made functions.
iii)- Content Management Systems (CMS)**: Platforms like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal allow users to create and manage website content without needing in-depth technical knowledge. These systems are widely used for blogs, business sites, and e-commerce platforms.
