We really need to understand what we are doing.

I recently took part in a podcast interview "www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-sejdh-9ae4e3" with Johan Steyn (https://www.garudax.id/in/johanosteyn/). Subsequently, Planit used this as a basis for the following article:

Have a listen and see if anything resonates.

As seasoned test specialists, we all had people who guided and mentored us. We have a duty and responsibility and a need to invest in the next generation. As the upcoming test professionals, you have to understand what and why you are doing it. Remember, the tool is not king! You can script in a tool but this does not make you an automation architect or a performance tester. You need to understand what you are doing and the impact of the decisions you make.

It is all to easy to assume google will answer our every question, but are we asking the correct question and are we interpreting the answer correctly? Every so often, its good to go back to basics and test your understanding.

Testing is our profession, lets all work to make it more professional.
