Walter Tower Dedication

Last week Houston Methodist formally dedicated its centerpiece for patient services in the Texas Medical Center, Walter Tower.  At 22 floors and over 900,000 SF, the Walter Tower will house 366 beds, and feature 14 cath labs, 4 hybrid ORs 11 CV ORs, 2 I-MRI ORs and a Gamma Knife.

Named after Rusty and Paula Walter for their transformative gift, the Walter Tower will begin serving patients in July.  Another spectacular feature of the Walter Tower is the three story atrium housing the relocated mosaic, The Extending Arms of Christ.  This Italian mosaic was originally installed on the outside of the old Main and is 98 feet long by 16 feet high with 1.5 million glass tiles.  The atrium was named after President Bush and Former First Lady, Barbara Bush.

Congratulations to you, Houston Methodist and the community.
