The Value of Innovation is Value

I spent the last weekend in Istanbul, Turkey. I was invited by Mr. Ferhat Demir, To speak about Wearable tech & Innovation, at the "Global Chief Innovation Officer Summit Istanbul"

The conference was one of the best i attended. I had the privilege to speak and meet with true innovation leaders from all over the world.

Among the many lectures and workshops presented throughout the day, we spoke about:

 • How to Inspire Millennial's to Innovate for Your Company

 • Wearable tech corporate innovation

 • Social impact

 • Innovation in the Banking industry, FinTech

 • How to start an innovation culture in your company.

Although we spoke about various industry scales, 3 main important issues kept returning, and these are the ones i would like to share:

1. Value. Value is what we should all be looking for in our work environments. It is what will get us up in the morning, build long term relationship with our clients and get our workers to stick around with us for a long time. Not money, not longer vacations. Value.

Innovate and find personal values that will lead your life and business.

2. The truth will set you free. Be genuaine, be transparent and be true. We live in the digital and social era. Dont try to hide or fake your mistakes, someone will find them soon enough. Share goels and struggles you are dealing with and turn them into a mutual challange. Ask your colliges to identify and speake about clients problems throuout all your companies structure. Somtimes solving A problem that seems minor, can end up saving you allot of money, and bigger futur problems. Make sure you are not closed up in you office, behing a computer all week. Find the time to go outside and meet the people who are using you products or survices.

3. Friendship - Probably the most important of all three.

Social media can connect us to thousend of "virtual" connection. It can also lead to collaboration and buisness oportunities, but nothing beats meeting in person. Human, face to face interaction, has so much more value. When you meet someone you talk, touch, observe. Your natural instinncs witl wake up your senses and tell you things that you will never know throu social media. During my Istanbul weekend, i met other spekes who were invited to talk at the conference. I never met them befor and we spent around 3 days together. We spent time together, We traveld the amazing city together, we ate and drank together and we partyed together. During this, we spoke about ourselves, our challenges, our homtowns and families. We connected.

Now, When the opportunity of collaborating professionally will arrive, i now know that i can trust these people, reccoment them and have a great time working with them.

People who i didn't know 3 days ago, i now call my friends. how cool is that?
