The value of embedding trust in analytics

If you are in a business of widgets, i.e. a business that uses energy & materials (literally, so not just human capital) and transforms it into physical products then a fundamental observation is that there is a series of 'data abstractions' starting at the physics of the process, ultimately yielding up to financial metrics, that is used to operate, measure & ultimately grow the business.

These data abstractions include a variety of symbolic systems, statistics & human-judgement, to differing extents at every level - sometimes undesirably creating a Rube Goldberg machine of analytics, to answer most likely a singular question - of whether we are allocating capital in the most efficient way possible.

What role does trust play in these data abstractions? Read more here.
