User Story
In laymen’s term user story is the journey of a user achieving the end goal of his/her task or agenda.
A user story should be short precise and to the point because if it is ambiguous or has a lot of twists and turns not relating to the main task then it will become impossible for someone else to follow up on his/her task left. For instance let’s take example of a game which is Grand Theft Auto, in the beginning we just try to finish the missions and reach the ending as soon as possible and only when it is done or achieved we move to side quests as they are relevant to the story but they are not going to be the reason to impact the end result in any ways.
With that in mind I think it clears up what a User Story is, let’s get ahead with what are the key elements of a good user story because there’s going to be something there, right?
A good user story should have the following key elements (even in movies there should be a proper story because not everyone is Salman Khan who can sell a story even with no Physics or Story involved).
-Genre: This is where we start as this decides what style of the story would be; when I say style here I mean technology used or the overall plotline of the story.
-Character: Characters would be the operating members inside a story who are going to be elements around which the entire story would revolve around.
-Visualization: When a story is created, no one knows the challenges which are going to come along the way because there are always going to elements of surprise which needs to be visualized as it will eventually affect output.
-Specific: This actually is self-explanatory because a story should be specific and to the point because there is no end rewards for beating around the bush.
-Duration: Duration is one of the most important element of a story as if it is taking too long then no one is going to go through the entire story which will eventually lead to undesirable results.
-Sequence: This is as important to a story as all the elements overall combined because not everyone is a Star Wars fan and might not appreciate the idea of mixing up the sequence like killing the villain first and then proceeding with the story without any bugs, no one likes that to be honest. Sequence can be decided as the story progresses.
Well that would be all for now but I will be posting blog on each element shortly.
