Armed violence in Haiti severely restricts humanitarian access. Armed groups have imposed illegal checkpoints and control over key routes, preventing the delivery of basic services and medical care; deepening a crisis that has displaced over 1.45 million people throughout the country.

INFORM Severity Index: A rapidly deteriorating crisis across the Middle East

Article content

Since late February 2026, the escalating US–Iran conflict has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis across the Middle East. In Iran, over 1,000 deaths, mass displacement, and damage to more than 115,000 buildings — including health facilities, schools, and residential areas — reflect the scale of destruction to both civilian life and critical infrastructure. A single missile strike on a school killed at least 170 people, many of them children, while over 700 schools have been affected in total. Humanitarian operations have also come under threat, with 4 Iranian Red Crescent workers killed and 17 injured while delivering assistance.

Beyond Iran's borders, the conflict has displaced over 1.1 million people in Lebanon and intensified needs across the region, pointing to a rapidly deteriorating, high-severity crisis with significant cross-border consequences.
