Transformative Enterprise Architecture - is published!
One of my goals for 2015 was to complete and publish one of my books - Transformative Enterprise Architecture (TEA). Achieving that goal on Dec 24th was therefore very satisfying.
The book is available on amazon (see link below) and will available in book stores soon.

A bit about the book itself. My motivation for writing this book was to share my thoughts on why there needs to be some fundamental rethinking in everything related to enterprise architecture including the EA discipline, the EA organization (or practice), and the EA practitioner as well.
One thing I have observed in my professional and personal life is that things begin to get complicated when our line of thinking does not change or evolve. This applies to mature thought processes (like enterprise architecture) as well.
For example,we have seen sufficient fundamental rethinking about software development life cycles (SDLC) - waterfall - iterative - agile, etc... However, I feel that there has NOT been sufficient rethinking about EA. We live in the age of transformation where everything is changing. EA needs to change as well and perhaps significantly too.
Transformative Enterprise Architecture will hopefully stimulate EA gurus, experienced and emerging architects (even those with formal degrees in EA) to rethink, reshape, and redesign EA. The book contains a summary of concepts (some of which may be new) that can stimulate a new approach for establishing an enterprise architecture practice.
I have created a linked in group for Transformative Enterprise Architecture and I hope that anyone and everyone interested in this topic will join and share their thoughts on applying fundamental rethinking to enterprise architecture. I plan on posting the preface, foreword, and table of contents so that members of the group get a better feel for what's in the book.
I will of course continue to share my thoughts through my blog and another book which is half complete at the moment.
I wish everyone a safe, happy, and prosperous new year!
