Time to wrap up 2017

After a busy and eventful year, I hope we all get to close this season with some joyful and deserved holidays. Digitalization has definitely been a strong focus, and sometimes also a strive, for many organizations and businesses, from consumer-focused retailers, to city planners and public transport authorities. It has been an exciting year and we at Orange Business Services have been heavily involved in helping clients to explore the latest innovation, and some of the highlights can be found here on my LinkedIn.

Another area which has been on top of the agenda 2017, that will become even more critical next year, is data management, security and compliance. This is not only technical challenges, but issues that have the potential of profoundly change a company and its way of working: to become GDPR compliant, to educate staff to be security aware and to be prepared for unknown threats and malware. To further support our customers in the security space we have opened a new headquarters for Orange Cyberdefense in Paris, currently with around 500 employees. Cybersecurity is a strategic priority for the company and this new campus will help companies to develop their “immune system” against digital threats and combine the best expertise in anticipating and handling cybersecurity threats. Security can be a big issue, but it should not be in the way for innovation.
