IT leaders have been struggling with an acute increase in demand for apps in their organizations. The increase is a result of the pandemic, which has accelerated the digital transformation initiatives in organizations.
"The State of Low-Code 2021" report has just been published by Mendix, and it shows how IT leaders are using low-code to resolve issues their organizations are facing.
According to the report, low-code is already in use in 77% of organizations. To respond to the increase in demand for apps, IT leaders are utilizing low-code tools. 83% are using low-code more since the pandemic began.
How has low-code enabled the business? Respondents say that low-code projects are 56% faster. Using low-code IT has responded to the demand positively, and it's not just used for fringe functionality. As a signal of low-code's maturity, 33% has used it to build mission-critical apps.
Marketplace forces are placing increasing demands on businesses and their respective IT departments. Low-code has given IT leaders some relief by providing a means of rapid app development.
