ReNuke Services is seeking a contract employee for our client in Aiken, SC.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The developer will be establishing and maintaining cost-effective web based solutions in a Java environment that meet business and technical requirements. The developer will be responsible for compliance with departmental policies and processes and for performing all duties and activities in a safe, disciplined, and ethical manner.
1. New Application Development
a. Establish requirements and obtain customer approvals per Savannah River Site procedures and guidance.
b. Participate in ongoing agile development stand-up and sprint planning meetings.
c. Execute the development cycle through coding, testing, acceptance and production turnover.
2. Maintenance and Revision of Existing Applications
a. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure continued operations of existing production applications.
b. Execute the coding, testing, acceptance and production roll out of software revisions.
3. Communication
a. Keep customers and management informed of progress, issues, scheduled downtime, or anything that affects the delivery of software and services.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a 4-year degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with 5 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or a non-related 4 year degree with 7 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or a 2 year degree with 9 years proven performance in related assignment(s). In lieu of degree, a high school diploma and at least 11 additional years of relevant information technology is acceptable.
Experience:
The ability to learn technical product information quickly and accurately.
5 years experience (7 years, if no degree) in developing n-tier web based applications using:
1. Java and its core libraries**
2. Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as Eclipse or IntelliJ**
3. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)*
4. Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
3 years experience with and working knowledge of:
1. Spring Boot or other web application frameworks.
2. Oracle and/or SQL Server*
3. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Angular**
Working knowledge of:
1. Agile development methodologies*
2. REST Web Services*
3. SQL and stored procedures
4. Bootstrap 3
5. CSS 3
