SQLBits party and theme – why we do, what we do.

Where to start? SQLBits holds a flamboyant party at every conference (We really do push the boat out on this event!) From a variation of dynamic themes and concepts, we manage to create the best, craziest, networking opportunity that gives you the chance to make a cracking impression and let your hair down. So close your notebooks and put your laptops to sleep, get ready to learn from others just like you! You know what they say – work hard, play hard! No stiffness or starchiness, so you can build a strong emotional connections to your work, and get excited about what you do and discover brand new opportunities.

At SQLBits you will meet other data nerds who can contribute to your own professional journey, this is such an important part of a conference, isn’t it?… However, it can be quite daunting to approach someone you don’t know… So why don’t you do it embellished in fancy dress surrounded by music, entertainment and finger-lickin’ good food (Oh! And booze!) Time to get some down-time with peers and have a catch up.

We want you to build an exceptional community and grow independently as leaders, through this positive and interactive event. With the addition of a Pub Quiz, SQLBits gives you that interactive element without any awkwardness as you can easily communicate and engage with new connections. We don’t just want the title of work colleges, we want friends. You don’t have to look your best, you can ditch the itchy, scratchy suits and throw on your wackiest attire as we’re all just a bunch of techy nerds really. I don’t know about you but, I’d must rather show up dressed as a colourful disco ball!

Now, how do we choose a theme for our (absolutely mind-blowingly amazing) party? We want to make sure you have fun, yet it doesn’t take away the seriousness of us helping you to learn! So, what makes the perfect theme for this brief? Commercial? Quirky? Commirky (That was my attempt of a word mash-up.) Having a theme everyone knows and can relate to allows a massive amount of engagement between attendees, as you can gather around a common idea. And, of course, we have to make sure our theme makes up for some amazing fancy dress creations! Our themes, allows us to covey our conference in a playful and high-spirited way, to create a positive initial tone – who wants to attend a conference that bland and tasteless where the attendees have no enthusiasm? This will be no where in sight at SQLBits, don’t worry!
