Splitting a Box
I needed to put a split box, like that above, into Excel cell to indicate that a column was half outsourcing service and consulting but I had no idea how to do it. The solution came to me with the help of smallbusiness.chron.com.
Step 1 - First draw a triangle using PowerPoint click "Insert", "Shapes", "Basic Shapes" select the triangle image. Then colour the triangle as you want using Shape Fill.
Step 2 - Copy and paste the triangle.Change the colour of what is now your second triangle and then rotate it by right clicking on the shape and selecting the rotating arrow.
Step 3 - Select both boxes and then "Arrange", "Align", "Align Top", This will bring the two triangles together. Then "Format" and "Group" them.
Step 4 - Take the box and drop it into the Paint program, where you should save box as an image.
Step 5- Click and highlight the cell in the PowerPoint table where you want to insert your image. In the diagram the cell labeled outsourcing and consulting.
Step 6 - Click "Design" in the menu bar. "Shading" from the ribbon's "Table Styles" tab.
Step 7 - Click "Picture..." from the drop-down menu that opens. The "Insert Picture" dialog box will open. Navigate to and select your image. It will appear within the cell or cells that you selected. The end result should look something like this.
I hope this will save you some time. As ever if you know a better way to do this please drop me a line.
