Solution architect – Physical Security Solutions Opportunity !

Context and mandate

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, our client introduced its Flex+ hybrid work model. As part of this project, our client is currently reviewing the physical security of its head office and of all its branches across Canada in order to increase the security of its offices. We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect in Physical Security technologies to participate in the BDC Physical Security Project.

 A solution architect takes the user’s requirements from initial concept, all the way to an executable technical journey. In such a position you will have the opportunity to create the most amazing experience for our clients, and our employees, making sure we promote organizational and technical scalability to create the best possible architecture so that our client’s security can enter the digital age.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• You believe that delivering an effective solution depends on several key factors: a deep understanding of business need; rigorous project planning (with a bias for short-term action); and fostering strong relationships.

 •      Architecture:

• You rigorously develop solution architectures, seeking practical solutions that optimize and re-use capabilities. You will care passionately about the integrity of the IT capabilities you develop. You will be responsible for designing and building solutions that best meet the business needs and are aligned with the IT strategy and roadmaps.
• Provide architecture and technology leadership to project delivery teams as they develop end to end solutions, supporting our ever-evolving ecosystem.  Your architecture will enable BDC on its on-going journey towards cloud.
• Develop or participate in the development of architectural documents.
• Be part of a multi-disciplinary architecture team and you will collaborate with several specialist including security, operations, enterprise architects and other solutions architects to provide the best architecture to meet BDC’s objectives.
• Participate in various project cost evaluations.
• Evaluate the reusability of current and proposed ecosystems for future needs

•      Technology:

• You are the Architecture Owner for some of our most critical projects or services.
• You are an excellent technologist; you have a passion for understanding and learning.
• You will bring good hands-on skills in key technologies, and an ability to rapidly assess new/ technologies.

o  Key technology responsibilities:

§ Experienced in Physical Security Technologies:

•      Physical Access Systems (badging)

•      CCTV

•      Biometry

•      Mobile supported security

•      Smart security devices

•      Security Analytics (video, occupancy, etc.)

•      AI (optional)

§ Experienced in putting in place a 24/7 physical security operating center (SOC)

§ Knowledgeable in WAN and LAN network

§ Knowledgeable in video local storage server setup and configuration

§ Detailled architecture design as well as implementation support to ensure alignment with initial requirements.
